The weight of a poor series of performance sat so heavy on Brooks Koepka’s shoulders that he revealed at the 2025 U.S. Open, it was difficult to be around him. However, now that he’s playing pretty well at Oakmont, he came out and apologised to everyone around him, including his wife, Jena Sims. “It’s been very irritating. It’s a lot. I mean, I had to apologise – I’ve apologised to Rick, Pete, Jeff, Blake, my wife, my son, everybody. I wouldn’t have wanted to be around me.” Although Sims hasn’t publicly reacted to his apology, it is undeniable that their love will stand this situation, considering how they met and fell in love.
Brooks Koepka’s and Jena Sims’s love story started at a major, but it wasn’t the U.S. Open. In an interview with Golf Digest in 2018, Sims reflected on her first meeting at the 2015 Masters. She recalled being on Hole 7, a moment she admitted she didn’t remember clearly. However, Koepka vividly recalled the details, saying, “Oh, I remember what you were wearing, where we were standing, everything.” It was also on that day that they shared their first hug across the ropes. How romantic was that! Despite that, the two started out as friends before turning into lovers.
