How Many Kids Does Grant Hill Have? Know More About Millionaire Ex-NBA Star’s Family

You know Grant Hill as the smooth operator on the court with a legendary Hall of Fame career. But beyond the highlight reels and buzzer-beaters, there’s a quieter strength that’s powered his journey—his family. From the toughest injuries to the biggest wins, it’s always been his wife and kids cheering loudest from the sidelines. That constant love? It’s what kept him grounded even when the game tried to knock him down.

So, it is easy to say that Grant isn’t just the co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks; he is the ultimate family man. Last November, he and Tamia marked 25 years of marriage in true fairytale fashion. He dropped a romantic wedding video capturing the sweetest moments of their love story. No wonder he wrote, “25 years ago, we said ‘I Do.’ 25 years later, we still say ‘I Do,’” tagging Tamia with, “Happy 25th Anniversary @realtamiaworld #Still.” And fatherhood? Grant Hill embraced that, too.

The next generation

At the end of the day, Grant Hill is just “Dad.” Grant and Tamia have two daughters—Myla Grace, born in 2002, and Lael Rose, who followed in 2007. And if you ask Tamia, there’s nothing better than watching Grant be a father. She loves the way he plays with their girls, how present and affectionate he is. In her words, it makes her feel thankful that her daughters have such a “loving, attentive father.” She also takes pride in how her choices helped build the kind of family dynamic they now share.

Meanwhile, Grant’s the kind of dad who sets the standard, especially when it comes to how he treats Tamia. He’s always mindful that Myla and Lael are watching. That’s why he shows them through actions what they should expect in love. Whether they’re teasing each other about her basketball or his singing, there’s always a glow of love and mutual respect.

Even at the height of his NBA career, Grant never let the spotlight steal time from his daughters. “When I am home, I try to spend as much time as I can with them… I spend time with the girls because you can’t get that back,” he told Raising Arizona Kids Magazine in 2008.

Now, nearly two decades later, both girls chose sports—just not basketball. Still, the legacy clearly lives on.

Myla Grace Hill

“I love it, man. It’s awesome,” Myla Grace Hill said last year after her third straight win. Growing up with a Hall of Fame dad and a Grammy-nominated mom, the spotlight isn’t new to her, but she’s not trying to be anyone’s second act. Myla’s determined to build her own identity.

“I can’t sing. I’m pretty short and I’m not a dude. So, I can’t do any of the stuff that they did. So just finding my own path and straying away from what people expect,” she said. Myla began training at VI Levels in 2019, stepped into the cage two years later, and now, at 23, she’s already talking about going pro.

Even her coach can’t help but rave about her work ethic. “Myla’s very talented, very athletic, very committed to the cause, as we say. And the cause is, of course, her becoming a world champion,” Jonathan Burke said. While most people think MMA fighters come from rough beginnings, Myla flips that narrative with quiet intensity and pure hustle.

“It’s all I’ve known. What’s super important to me is upholding my family legacy. The Hill last name comes with a lot,” Myla shared. And she’s not just throwing punches—she’s also balancing business management studies at Rollins College. Now let’s talk about what her little sister is up to.

Lael Rose Hill

So while big sis Myla is crushing it in the MMA world, 17-year-old Lael Hill is making waves of her own on the soccer field. Just nine months ago, the youngest Hill officially announced her commitment to play for the University of Florida. The rising star shared her excitement with a heartfelt post on Instagram, and fans—including her famous parents—were here for it.

“I’m excited, grateful, and beyond blessed to announce my verbal commitment to play soccer at the University of Florida!! I’d like to thank my family, teammates & coaches for all their support and encouragement along this amazing journey. I also want to thank Coach Samantha Bohon and her coaching staff for believing in me, and giving me this wonderful opportunity to pursue my dream as a Gator. Go Gators!!” she wrote.

And while she’s still finishing high school, Lael’s already carving out a name. She’s currently playing for Orlando City’s ECNL squad—the highest level of competition for girls in the country. That drive clearly runs in the family.

Interestingly, Lael brings her own flavor to the Hill mix. “Myla is very much like Grant,” Tamia once said. “She’s very calm, easy, laid back. Lael is kind of feisty.” So, the Hill legacy just keeps leveling up.
