How Much Is Patrick Mahomes Getting Paid for Doritos & Coors Light Super Bowl Commercials? Average Ads Income & Paycheck Revealed

Patrick Mahomes and Doritos have always been a winning combo—both bring the crunch when it matters most. But this time, it’s not just about game-day snacks; it’s about a star-studded commercial featuring some of his Chiefs teammates, including Chris Jones, Xavier Worthy, and the ever-energetic Creed Humphrey. The buzz started before the ad even hit screens—thanks to Mahomes dropping a teaser on X and Instagram.

On January 14, 2025, Mahomes took to social media, posting, “#ad We took this job very seriously, and it was a tough choice. Now it’s your turn! Vote for your favorite Doritos Crash the Super Bowl commercial at DoritosCrash.com! #DoritosCrash.” If you’ve seen the ad, you know it’s not just about the chips—it’s about the fans, too, with Mahomes and his teammates bringing them into the action. But let’s talk about something even crunchier—the paycheck. How much do you think Mahomes pocketed for this Super Bowl spot? A million? Half? Maybe two? Let’s break it down.

How much did Patrick Mahomes get paid?

According to sources, Patrick Mahomes has not charged the brand any money for the Doritos Crash commercial! Per USA Today, he did the commercial only to encourage more contestants to participate in the contest. Instead of charging the brand, Patrick Mahomes has said, “I think what makes a great commercial is obviously the product, but at the same time, you have to have fun and (add) creativity to it. I’m excited for fans to be able to go and judge these commercials.” Talk about being generous!

Well, he also likes the way football fans have created the commercial, amongst whom the best one would win $1 million. Patrick Mahomes said when asked about the contest, “It really impressed me, the creativity, the visual effects, everything. I’m excited for the fans to be able to go and watch those commercials as well and actually to get to vote.” This is, indeed, a very creative way of getting the fans involved in the action ahead of the Super Bowl for the grand stage.

Mahomes is not alienated from the creative ideas fueling the commercials. Remember, back in June ’24, he evaded a fine from the NFL. Per the league rulebook, active players are prohibited from promoting alcohol. Enters the Showtime in collaboration with Coors. They came up with the idea to time capsule the ad for when he retires. Like, literally! So, you can understand why Pat did not feature in their Super Bowl commercial. But that did not stop the brand from going creative.

It has banged up the commercials with a Sloth bear. The time capsules, now sloth bears… That’s something. According to the president of the Coors Light, Marcelo Pascoa, “We thought, why not turn that classic ‘Case of the Mondays’ into a literal case of Coors Light? Mondays Light is our way of reminding fans to Choose Chill on one of the worst Mondays of the year.” It’s also interesting, isn’t it? Well, let’s see who will win! But wait, apart from the contest, do you wanna know what’s the average cost to advertise during the Super Bowl? Let’s find out!
