The golf season has started with a full swing and is continuing with even better. With each event, the golf world is observing improved performance and new records set by the golfers. Recently, Keegan Bradley set the record low at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Even at LIV Golf Hong Kong, Sergio Garcia won his second LIV Golf event to put a stronger foot in front of the Ryder Cup team captain for his contention.
Now, with the next event not far away, the hopes are high to see how the event will change the leaderboard positioning. After the last win, Garcia secured a first position with 54 points. However, there isn’t much difference to cover as Jon Rahm is just .50 points behind him. The next event will get teed off on March 14th in Singapore.
The outcome of the Singapore event will either extend the points lead or dramatically alter the leaderboard rankings. Well, to find out, catch the action live on various partner broadcasters, including Fox Sports (Fox Sports), ITV (UK) and Seven Network (Australia). The event can even be live-streamed at the official LIV Golf app. With the star-studded course, the first round will tee off at 9:15 AM local time, which means 8:15 PM ET.
For the next two rounds as well, 8:15 PM ET will be the time for the live broadcast. However, the excitement with each round will increase every day, that is for sure. Take the example of the past Hong Kong event where Garcia, even after having a first round of 65, went on to improve with one stroke in the last two as he recorded 64 and 63.
Well, the event is definitely not a miss for the fans. To make it even interesting, the 54-year-old has shared about the prime form of getting back.
Phil Mickelson on his comeback after LIV Golf Hong Kong
The six-time major title winner since the switch has struggled to find victory. In 2021, he won his last event, which was the PGA Championship. Notably, with 3 schedules passed, he could only get one top-10 finish each year. However, now, with the great start of the season and his solo third finish at LIV Golf Hong Kong, the golfer is confident about his form.
Recently, Mike McAllister shared a glimpse of their conversation on X, in which the golfer shared how he is showcasing the traits of his comeback. Mickelson said, “My game is getting sharp. My short game is back. I had a rough couple of years, but my short game’s really sharp now. My iron play’s back. My game is starting to really come around, and I’m also playing differently. I’m playing [with] a lot less stress. It’s coming.”
Well, the greatness of the golfer can be seen in his performance, as he was constant in recording birdies. Mickelson scored 7 birdies in each round, resulting in a score of -14 with 67-65-64 rounds.
He’s now discussing the application form and Sergio Garcia’s significant influence on Ryder Cup selections. The upcoming schedule till the Masters is definitely filled with adrenaline for the golfers as well as for the fans. Who do you think will perform better at LIV Golf Singapore?
