Hyo Joo Kim is no stranger to the golf world. She has been a constant part of the winner circle since she turned professional. The 29-year-old joined as a professional in 2012 and has since earned 24 professional titles. The Evian Championship winner joined the LPGA Tour in 2015, and with more than a decade of playing with the top professionals, she has bagged 7 titles, including the most recent at the Ford Championship in 2025. Well, the golfer has kept her in the spotlight, but to help her achieve her goals, a huge contribution is her uniquely selected golfing essentials. Let’s take a look at what she brought to the course.
Hyo Joo Kim’s preference for the tee
For Kim, driving is the key, but apart from just hitting long distances, staying on the fairway is also a priority. With 83.24% driving accuracy, she prefers the Yonex EZONE GT 460 driver, featuring a 9-degree loft, paired with the Yonex Rexis Kaiza-M 6S shaft. The $399-priced driver is ideal for achieving long distances with great forgiveness. Along with that, to tackle par 4 and long par 5s, she carries fairway woods that help in staying on the fairway while achieving longer distances easily. To achieve full accuracy, she prefers Yonex EZONE GT Fairway Woods with Yonex Kaiza-M2 shafts. Coming at $300, it is a great option to buy for covering maximum distance with ease.
After the two long-distance coverage clubs, Kim uses Yonex’s Steel Forged Irons, namely, EZONE CB 701 (5-6) and 501 (7 and below). As one of the strongest iron players on the LPGA Tour, she prefers to use the iron for its forged design, which offers pinpoint accuracy. Coming at $1200 for the set, it is a great option to buy.
After using the Yonex clubs, the golfer then considers different brands of putters for her greens.
Kim’s preference for the greens
After using the long-distance and low-spin clubs, the South Korean professional moves to Titleist Vokey Design SM9 wedges. As her gap wedge is part of the iron set, she carries a sand and lob wedge from Titleist. The $180 wedge, paired with the Nippon NS Pro Zelos shaft, makes it ideal for reaching close to the hole with enhanced ball control.
After coming close to the hole, Hyo Joo Kim then picks up a putter, which is another strong suit for her. The South Korean was ranked fourth in 2024 for putts per green and had a putting average of below 30 per round. To make it even better, she uses the Odyssey O Works Tour R-Ball S. The $300-priced putter is specially designed to suit her gaming style. However, another version of a similar series is available for purchase. Finally, to make it all work out, she carries the Titleist Pro V1X ball, which offers high spin and longer distance coverage.
With the great picks of multiple brands suiting her style, the result has been seen in the past. What are your thoughts on her WITB? Share with us in the comments below.
