Iconic Dale Earnhardt-Themed Lamborghini Resurfacing at $165,000 Leaves NASCAR Fans Raving

The No.3 car holds a special place in the hearts of NASCAR fans. It tormented everyone at superspeedways, dominating each soul who even tried to come in its path. The driver was none other than the legendary Dale Earnhardt. The 7-time Cup Series champion donned an iconic livery on his #3 Wrangler car for 4 years and recently, the car has made a return.

Now this isn’t just any Wrangler car, it’s the iconic blue and yellow car that his son Dale Earnhardt Jr. was a huge fan of. If today you had the chance to get it right away, how much would you be willing to bid for it? While the original car is not for sale, another sizzling car sporting the same theme has been listed on Facebook and it looks absolutely stunning.

Dale Earnhardt’s iconic livery on a modern beauty

The Intimidator is one of the most revered drivers of all time and for good reason. Within his first 10 years as a full-time driver, he notched up three Cup Series Championships, two of them coming in the iconic blue-yellow Wrangler. Driving for Richard Childress Racing, Earnhardt drove the #3 Wrangler between 1984 and 1987, winning the 1986 and 1987 championships in that car. In 1982 and 1983, he also drove a blue and yellow Wrangler, but it was his #15 which didn’t see much success. The switch to #3 in 1984 was the moment that changed everything and solidified that number as his own. Now, more than four decades later, people still rave over that blue and yellow Wrangler.

A digital creator and owner of Midwest Motor Company from Joplin, Missouri has brought back the iconic, No.3 Wrangler car for sale. The real twist is that it’s not the Chevrolet you have seen, but a rare edition of the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo that looks breathtaking. He took it to Facebook and posted his yellow and blue car picture recreated like Dale Earnhardt’s Wrangler edition.

The post read, “VIN: ZHWGE5AU3DLA13516 Considering letting her go for a new toy to enjoy. One of two Super Trofeo’s to be street legal in US. Only 72 ever produced for race programs in 2013. Excellent maintenance history, does not need a thing. Far and away my most enjoyable exotic experience. Absolute blast to drive. Car is yellow, blue is vinyl. Comes with tons of spare parts. Willing to trade. In Joplin, MO $165k.” The car has a modern look with a nostalgic touch, a dream purchase for any NASCAR fan. But what makes the #3 Wrangler so special?

Dale Earnhardt’s identity and connection with iconic cars and sponsors are an important footnote in NASCAR history. Just look at GM Goodwrench and Wrangler; these partnerships have solidified their place in the hearts of stock car racing enthusiasts. Earnhardt achieved his greatest success with these sponsors, making them legendary in stock car racing.

Speaking on their good relationship with Wrangler, Dale Jr., once said, “I remember all my younger years, going to the race track from ’81 to ’87, Dad being in a blue-and-yellow Wrangler car every single week…Blue and yellow were our favorite colors.” Also, he expressed, “I’m very proud of that relationship, very proud that it spanned so many years. Typically, relationships just don’t last that long. So it says a lot about Wrangler and what they get out of the sport itself; their connection to race fans and the legacy of the Earnhardt family and Richard, everything that Richard and Dad did together.”

Dale Earnhardt and Wrangler’s longstanding relationship was all about loyalty, iconic status, and a commitment to deliver the best determination that both showcased, leaving a lasting legacy in NASCAR. Once fans got to know this car was on sale, they were willing to give up a lot to secure it. The replies across Facebook and Reddit were filled with jokes, appreciation, and fans wishing they made more money.

What are fans’ testament to getting the NASCAR greatest drivers’ premium replica?

The kind of impact Dale Earnhardt had on his fans is still intact. Some are so passionate that they joke about going to extreme lengths to buy this car, as one fan on said, “I’d trade my 4 bedroom 10 car garage warehouse and 4 acres of land for this car. But sadly I’m in Louisiana.” While this fan is ready to give up everything for this car, another fan is grateful he doesn’t have that kind of money.

On Reddit, this fan commented, “This I why I should never be allowed to have copious amounts of money because I’d blow it on dumb s—t like this.” $165,000 is a lot of money, however, to blow it on a Dale Earnhardt-themed Lamborghini is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that no one could pass up.

While some fans didn’t have the financial resources, others were willing to go out of their way as this user rather comedically pointed out, “Maybe I should sell my house? Can’t drive a house, but you can sleep in a car.” They’re not wrong, you can sleep in a car, although there might be some other features of a house that this fan is glossing over just to get a blue-yellow Wrangler car. However, this wasn’t his most iconic sponsor, but it certainly is a cult classic, as another fan pointed out.

They wrote, “I’m surprisingly okay with this. I also applaud using an 86-87 Wrangler scheme instead of the usual Goodwrench.” The #3 Goodwrench was the scheme The Intimidator was known for. The black paint scheme dominated tracks in the 1990s and saw Earnhardt win the bulk of his 7 Championships in. However, the blue-yellow scheme marked his first real dominating run, as he won 11 races in 1987 with the #3 Wrangler en route to the Championship.

Meanwhile, most fans were just trying to come up with reasons to get the price down, as one fan jokingly said, “This thing has has been forsale for what 4 years now. That’s gotta sting. I’ll give you $5.00” It’s clear that fans recognize the worth of a piece like this and are lightheartedly taking jabs at how low they can get it for. Dale Earnhardt’s impact and legacy he left behind is incomparable, and every time a tribute to him shows up in any shape or form, fans don’t miss a beat to praise the Intimidator.

What do you think; will you bid for getting that Lamborghini version of the No.3  Wrangler or are you team GM Goodwrench?
