IFBB Pro Casts Alleged Doubt on Jake Paul’s Clean Image: “They Have the Kind of Money”

Jake Paul sent shockwaves down the combat world when he unveiled a chiseled 227-pound frame ahead of his clash with Mike Tyson. This was especially remarkable considering he gained more than 27 pounds in a matter of just 4 months after his Mike Perry bout in July 2024. From a lanky 6’1 YouTuber to a 190 lbs cruiserweight to a 227 lbs heavyweight, The Problem Child has undergone significant change in his professional career.

To prepare for his fight against Tyson, Paul adopted an intense 4,000-calorie diet with three training sessions daily. As expected, speculations that hinted at the 28-year-old being on some sort of ste***ds came around, but his team quickly squashed the rumors. Jake Paul’s coach Larry Wade told SunSport that the transformation stemmed from a disciplined approach. The 28-year-old had a dedicated nutritionist, a proper strength conditioning plan, and weight management, overlooked by Wade himself. With the explanation, the chatter simmered down eventually. However, months after the clash, IFBB Professional Bodybuilder Greg Doucette reignited the debate, casting fresh doubts on whether Paul’s transformation was entirely natural.

Cheat code laid bare by Greg Doucette

In a recent sit-down interview with Sean Kelly on his YouTuber channel, Doucette cleared the air about various influencers’ natural/natty status. When the names of Jake Paul and Logan Paul came up, Doucette didn’t hesitate in labeling them both “not natty.”

When pressed for an explanation, Doucette claimed, “I mean they have the kind of money and the funds to be at the highest level to get the proper testing to get the peptides that they need.” According to Doucette, if someone, like the Paul brothers, wanted to maintain their clean image, they’d be on very low doses so as to avoid detection. “When you say are you on steroids, it’s like most of the fake natties, if they really want to be fake, are going to be on very low doses of testosterone,” the bodybuilder posited. Here he explained his own approach. “If I showed you my testosterone levels and said, ‘Look, I’m natural. It’s 550 to 765.’ You’re going to say yes. But do I look natural?” he continued.

Doucette admitted to using HRT himself to maintain his testosterone in the normal range. The key according to him, is the employment of proper peptides. “I’m on HRT admittedly. My testosterone levels are in the normal range, doesn’t mean I’m natural. But if I want to fool it, I would take no testosterone at all and I would take every peptide I could take. I would take like uh growth hormone – IGF-1, IGF-2, Sermorelin, Tesamorelin—all the different peptides that you could think of I would take all of them. Because how is that going to affect my (testosterone) levels,” he explained.

This is how many manage to avoid detection in blood tests, according to Greg Doucette: “So I’ll do the blood work. My (testosterone) levels will look normal. But I’ll be putting on all that size from an another method.”

Now these are still assumptions on Doucette’s part. However, Jake Paul’s rapid almost 30-pound gain in four months does leave room for speculation, even though these haven’t been confirmed yet. Regardless, this is turning out to be a rather controversial week for El Gallo as this is not the only thing he has been accused of.

Jake Paul should have stuck to an exhibition

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson might be one of the most controversial fights in recent times. The bout disappointed most boxing fans, yet it became one of the most-watched boxing events in recent memory. Recently, former super middleweight champion Carl Froch asked British boxing legend Ricky Hatton for his opinion on the fight.

Hatton was indeed disappointed, but his reasoning was different. The legend believes that neither of them tried enough during the fight. The Hitman said, “I don’t think Jake Paul tried against him,” which is against the rules of sports. And as the bout was sanctioned as a pro-fight by TDLR, it was all the more disappointing for him. According to Hatton, they should have stuck to an exhibition. “I don’t mind exhibitions, I’ve done one. Don’t sell it, and charge each other, the Earth, and then bill it as a proper fight when it wasn’t,” he stated strongly. Well, Jake Paul indeed held himself back in the last few seconds of the fight. However, we can’t say the same thing for Mike Tyson as he was out of the fight after the first round.

Speculation constantly swirls around The Problem Child, but these are the rare claims he would never admit to. As for us, all we can do is listen and wonder. What’s your take? Do you think Jake Paul is natural? Let us know your thoughts down below.
