“I’m Never Gonna Beg”- Ex-UFC Champ Exposes Dana White & Co.’s Bias Behind Robbie Lawler’s Hall-of-Fame Induction Amid Comeback Rumors

Tyron Woodley has a strong MMA legacy and has etched his name permanently in the world of combat sports. He was the former UFC Welterweight Champion who defended it four times. While his UFC title dominance and initial performance were powerful, his career had a slump marked by a 4-fight losing skid, leading to his departure from UFC. However, the accolades he gained were enough for the 19-7-1 UFC star and Hollywood actor to get a Hall of Fame induction. But was he inducted?

Meanwhile, Woodley is planning a return to MMA after a short stint in boxing, including two losses to Jake Paul. His comeback was scheduled, potentially, with the Global Fighting League. Despite all this, Robbie Lawler was inducted before him. That raises some questions, right?

Yes, the same Lawler who was Woodley’s friend and teammate in the American Top Team. But everything changed when the duo clashed at UFC 201, and Woodley was the winner by KO in Round 1. Yes, Ruthless deserved the induction into the UFC Hall of Fame’s Modern Wing as a member of the Class of 2025 with his high-octane fights, and 30-16-0 resume, plus his UFC Welterweight Champion accolade, but so did his former teammate.

Let’s hear the reason from the man himself. The 43-year-old spoke on Verse Us and explained why UFC did this. He said, “I would love to have a conversation with Robbie. I was happy to go to the Hall of Fame and see what they were doing, ’cause you saw he is not a social media guy at all, like I just told you. I took his phone, and I signed him up for Instagram at Dan Lambert’s house. The UFC had him take over Snapchat and take over UFC, and the greatest moment for Robbie to do because what they’re doing is they are pleading his case, which they don’t have to.”

Tyron Woodley stated his mindset and explained, “One, if you know me, you know I’m never gonna beg to be inducted with anything, only the Hall of Fame I’m trying to make into that I care about for real is heaven.”

However, he added that UFC built up the case for Lawler to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, which the promotion might not have done for Woodley. Nonetheless, he is planning on coming back to MMA with the Global Fight League, as per his account to Ariel Helwani. Maybe that is why he decided to come clean to Dana White about his diss track on the boss. But is it too late?

Tyron Woodley’s diss track on Dana White

For the longest time, Woodley has voiced being upset with UFC and White for staging an interim Welterweight title fight between Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington while he was still champion. The UFC wanted Woodley to fight RDA, but Woodley had a torn labrum and prioritized surgery over fighting the Brazilian legend. He felt that he couldn’t beat RDA if he was not riding at his hundred percent. However, he felt a certain pressure, almost as if White and the organization tried to make him “look stupid.”

Before the victory over Darren Till, when ‘The Chosen One’ won a decision victory against Maia at UFC  214, Dana White was not happy. The UFC CEO stressed that Woodley did not finish the fight. The Chosen Onewas frustrated with the criticism. The fighter decided to make a rap song and dissed his boss in a song with Wiz Khalifa titled, I’ll Beat Yo A–, which was released shortly after his victory over Till.

Woodley stated on The Vs. US podcast that the song was aimed at Dana White. That’s why I made that song, I’ll Beat Yo A–,he said.If you listen to the lyrics, it was for Dana White. I couldn’t say I wanted to beat Dana White’s a–, but I wanted to bad because he made me look stupid.”

The surprising bit? Neither the fans nor the UFC CEO knew that this release was about the head honcho till the ex-UFC fighter got vocal. However, Woodley received a lot of criticism for his remarks on Dana White. From claiming that the UFC CEO didn’t promote him enough to accusing him of showing a lack of respect, Woodley has made it explicit how he left. Do you think the diss track was the right move?
