If you’re an Indiana Fever fan right now, you might already be counting down the days until the season ends. With Caitlin Clark nursing a left quadriceps injury, the Indiana Fever has dropped both games in her absence so far. But just when fans thought it couldn’t get any worse, the team’s point guard depth took a major hit. Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham both suffered contact injuries during the match against the Connecticut Sun, leaving the backcourt dangerously short-handed. Coach Stephanie White had little to share back then, but now she finally has an update to share.
According to Chloe Peterson of the IndyStar, head coach Stephanie White finally gave an update on the injuries to her two backup guards. The MRI results were encouraging for both Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham. Colson is dealing with an issue in her upper left leg, while Sophie Cunningham’s injury is tied to her right ankle, the same one that’s been giving her trouble since preseason.
Some injury notes, per Steph White:
– Both Colson and Cunningham’s MRIs were encouraging — Colson is upper left leg, while Cunningham’s has to do with her right ankle again.
– Damiris Dantas was standing off to the side to take a rest day, no injury to report.
