Indiana Fever Makes Big NBA Finals Announcement Before Caitlin Clark & Co.’s NY Liberty Game

Before Game 3 of this year’s NBA Finals, the last time Gainbridge Fieldhouse hosted a Finals game was in the building’s very first season. While NBA Finals appearances have been rare at the venue, it has experienced championship basketball more recently on the WNBA side. In 2015, the Indiana Fever reached the WNBA Finals but came up short against the Minnesota Lynx. This year, the Pacers brought championship energy back to the Fieldhouse with a strong performance, earning a 116 to 107 win in Game 3 to take a 2 to 1 lead in the best-of-seven series, giving Indiana fans plenty to celebrate.

The series will stay in Indiana for Game 4, which is scheduled for Friday. On just the next day, the Caitlin Clark and Co. will also play a home game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Due to the tight scheduling, all three teams—the Pacers, the Thunder, and the Fever—are currently holding practices either inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse or at the nearby St. Vincent Center, the training facility directly connected to the arena. This overlap, as reported by Tony East, highlights just how busy and energized the building is as it hosts both NBA Finals and WNBA regular-season action.

Pacers, Fever, and Thunder will all practice in Gainbridge Fieldhouse at some point today. Hectic building.
