If it were last year, Angel Reese would have missed one game for sure due to her seventh technical foul. But because the WNBA has expanded its schedule to 44 games, the Chicago Sky standout too got an opportunity and is one tech away from a game suspension. But before she could capitalize on that opportunity, something unexpected has taken over her!
Just hours before tip-off against the Seattle Storm, Chicago Sky insider reports have confirmed it — Angel Reese is officially OUT for tonight’s game. The rookie phenom, who’s been on a tear since June, was listed as questionable earlier in the day with a lingering back issue. But now, fans hoping to see her continue her historic double-double streak will have to wait a little longer.
And while Reese had looked physically fine in her last outing, logging an 11-point, 11-rebound game against the Lynx, it appears the toll of the grueling WNBA schedule, combined with increasing minutes for an injury-ridden Sky, may have caught up with her.

This marks only her second missed game of the season, but it comes at a critical time. Not only is she chasing records, but she’s also one technical foul away from a league-mandated suspension after picking up her seventh T earlier this week. So with Michaela Onyenwere and Ariel Atkins also ruled out, the Sky’s rotation is looking extremely thin!
