Insider Reveals Conor McGregor and Justin Gaethje’s Fight Update as Paddy Pimblett’s Demand Gets Backing

Paddy Pimblett has been cutting through the lightweight rankings like a hot knife through butter. Even though Dominick Reyes was the one to almost replicate Conor McGregor’s iconic 13-second knockout win, it’s ‘The Baddy’ who’s being considered as the next ‘Mystic Mac’ of the UFC. He has remained undefeated in his UFC career, and with a KO win over Michael Chandler at UFC 314, his stance got a lot stronger. Well, it was strong enough for the UFC veteran, Brendan Schaub, to put him against ‘The Notorious’.

Schaub came forth with a list of possible opponents for Pimblett’s next bout. Taking to Instagram, he shared a clip from his YouTube talk show, and captioned, “Paddy is a bonafide super star. If Conor comes back Paddy v Conor is the biggest fight they can make and the only fight for both of them. Until then Paddy v Justin G is the move kids.” Of course, ‘The Notorious’ still has two fights left in his UFC contract. And the recent heat between him and the Liverpudlian made a lot of people believe that they might clash pretty soon. However, McGregor’s return is under high scrutiny. And that’s where Justin Gaethje comes in.

Schaub said, “I think if I’m the UFC, I’m strategically going to match up Paddy to have success. You can do Justin Gaethje – Paddy Pimblett. That’s what I would do.” Needless to say, there are other fighters that Pimblett could go against, including Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira. But if the UFC doesn’t want Pimblett to lose, they’d have to get him a fight against Gaethje. Schaub continued, “Not saying Justin can’t f—– knock his lights out. He can knock anybody out. He’s one of the greatest ever to do it. But stylistically, Justin Gaethje matches up very poorly with Paddy Pimblett. Paddy can beat Justin. Paddy can beat Charles, Paddy can beat Dustin Poirier, but they’re tougher fights. Stylistically, out of those three gentlemen, Justin Gaethje is the one you want if you’re the Paddy camp.”

While there isn’t much heat between Pimblett and Gaethje, one of McGregor’s acts lit up a huge fire. And that was the former UFC double champion’s error of betting $500K against Pimblett. No doubt, this infuriated the Britisher. Let’s see what he had to say about it.

Paddy Pimblett goes off on Conor McGregor for betting against him

Talking to Jon-Bernard Kairouz following the fight at UFC 314, ‘The Baddy’ called ‘The Notorious’ out for a fight. And the reason lay in the Irishman’s bet. Pimblett said, “Cheeky little bast–d, the Scouse are meant to back each other. I didn’t expect that from Conor. If you want to come back, Conor, I’m here, son. I’m waiting. I’d mufti you just like I’ve just muftied Chandler. I don’t think Conor is ever coming back, he’s got enough money, he doesn’t need to come back. But if he does, ‘The Baddy’ is waiting for him.”

And it seems like McGregor realized his mistake as well. After losing half a million dollars, he took to X and made a statement. He claimed that Pimblett was indeed improving and becoming an equal to the top-level fighters in the lightweight division. And that’s the reason why Pimblett’s fights were so entertaining. But as far as the bet was concerned, ‘Mystic Mac’ revealed that his history with Chandler and the odds on him by KO apparently pulled the Irishman in to take the risk. However, his mind was on ‘The Baddy’. But now, the damage has been done.

Do you think Pimblett vs. McGregor would be a good fight to look up to? Do you have any other name that you’d like Pimblett to go up against? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
