Cincinnati Reds pitcher Chase Burns made headlines during the MLB Speedway Classic, not just for taking the mound in a historic game, but also due to uncertainty surrounding his status.
Burns, a former Tennessee standout hailing from Hendersonville, Tennessee, started for the Reds in what marked the first-ever MLB game held in the state. It was a symbolic moment as he entered against the Atlanta Braves.

However, things took a concerning turn when Reds’ manager Terry Francona offered a vague but telling update to FOX reporters during the game. “It’ll be a little while,” Francona said.
