Is Stephen Curry Related to Jayda Curry? Exploring Warriors Star’s Relationship With Louisville Guard

Back in the 2021/22 season, Jayda Curry won the Media Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. She also led the Pac-12 in scoring, averaging 18.6 points a game. Guess how many players before her have done that. The answer is 0!

Now, NBA fans are used to seeing a player named Curry make history. But that makes you wonder, is the Louisville Cardinals related to Golden State Warriors legend, Stephen Curry? There’s also something she has the chance to do this year that’ll forever link her name to Steph’s, though.

Exploring the link between Jayda Curry and Stephen Curry

Jayda’s freshman-year heroics meant that she ended up on a lot of people’s radars. And one of those people was the Dubs’ Steph Curry. After the aura she’d created around herself, Steph couldn’t help but meet her and show his appreciation for her impact on the game.

“For her to find a way to make her presence known already in her freshman year is pretty unbelievable. That there’s an impact there is still surreal, crazy. Obviously, the coincidence with the last name – it’s pretty dope that she has an attachment to what I’ve done on the court, and wants to use that as inspiration for her career,” Steph told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Welp! Looks like the cat’s out of the bag with that Steph Curry quote. Jayda and the Warriors shooting guard are not related. Their having the same last name is merely a happy coincidence. But given their elite skills on the court, they might as well be related.

Jayda actually has two sisters, Kayla and Ayva. And this year, she has the chance to set the perfect example in victory for her sisters by doing something only one person named Curry has ever done.

Jayda Curry is one step closer to becoming an NCAA Tournament winner after beating Nebraska

The Nebraska Cornhuskers put up a tough fight against the Louisville Cardinals on Friday at the Schollmaier Arena. The Cardinals did not get off to a good start. They only shot at a 30% clip in the first quarter. And they trailed by 2 points after the end of the first quarter.

This must’ve been the kick Taj Roberts needed as she put up 12 points in the next quarter to help the Cardinals claw their way to a 36 -32 lead at halftime. By the end of the 3rd quarter, the Cardinals were able to extend their lead to 6 points as that period ended 50-44.

However, it looked touch and go for Louisville when the Cornhuskers went on a 10-0 run to begin the fourth. And then it happened. Jayda sprang to life after shaking off a cramp. And she helped the Cardinals to a nail-biting 63-58 victory. She and Olivia Cochran came in clutch for their team when they needed them the most! And now. the Cardinals have the chance to move closer to the championship by beating the second-seeded TCU on Sunday.

Jayda now has a legitimate shot at winning the NCAA tournament with the Cardinals after a shocking first-round exit last year. But will she join Steph Curry as an NCAA tournament winner? Let us know what you think!
