During Tuesday’s Warriors encounter, the Grizzlies star went viral for making finger guns sign at Buddy Hield during a timeout. Even Hield responded to the act with the same gesture. As expected, both players got penalized with a technical foul. Once the video caught public attention, NBA took strict action and initiated an investigation into Ja and Buddy mimicking the action of shooting a gun.
The final verdict as per veteran insider Shams Charania, “NBA issued warnings—no further penalties—to Grizzlies’ Ja Morant and Warriors’ Buddy Hield along with both teams for gestures on Tuesday night, sources tell ESPN. League ruled the celebrations were not intended to be violent in nature, but inappropriate and should refrain.” Despite Adam Silver and Co.’s warning, Morant used the same gesture again during tonight’s Heat clash.
