James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational 2025: Prize Money Breakdown & Winner’s Payout

Get ready for an exciting golf weekend at The Old Course at Broken Sound! The 2025 James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational is bringing a unique twist to Boca Raton, Florida. This brand-new tournament combines 78 golf pros and 26  NFL Hall of Famers in one spectacular event, with the latter joining for a special two-man Best Ball competition. It’s the seventh tournament of the PGA Tour Champions season. Moreover, it’s the only new event added to the 2025 Champions schedule. Fans can catch all the action from April 4-6 on Golf Channel. This unique format sets the James Hardie Invitational apart from other golf tournaments. Let’s take a deep dive into what these players will be competing for this weekend in terms of cash rewards.

The total prize purse for the 2025 James Hardie Invitational stands at a whopping $2.2 million. That’s a substantial amount for a Champions Tour event! The winner will take home $330,000—the standard 15 percent of the total purse. Furthermore, there’s no cut in this 54-hole event, so every player gets paid. The runner-up will earn $193,600, while third place receives $158,400. Those finishing in the top five will all earn six-figure payouts. Even the 78th-place finisher gets $1,100.

Other than money, Charles Schwab Cup points are also on the list. The money each player earns this week counts toward the Charles Schwab Cup points list. Each dollar earned translates into a regular-season point to qualify for the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs in 2025. At the end of the season in 2025, the top five players in the final standings are paid part of the $2.1 million bonus pool (all as annuities), based on the points standings. For OWGR, there will be none as PGA Tour Champions events do not offer any.

Now that we know what’s at stake financially, let’s examine which golfers have the best shot at claiming the champion’s share this weekend.

Current leaderboard: Cabrera dominates at Broken Sound

As the tournament heads into its final stage, a clear frontrunner has emerged on the leaderboard. Ángel Cabrera is putting on a masterclass at Broken Sound. The Argentinian star sits comfortably at -10 after three solid rounds of 66, 68, and 66. Cabrera’s performance has been particularly impressive. He’s hitting 71.43% of fairways and averaging over 300 yards off the tee. His approach game has been exceptional, finding 80.56% of greens in regulation. That ranks him second in the field in that crucial statistic. His consistent play has given him a two-stroke cushion over his nearest competitor.

Alex Cejka holds second place at -8 after rounds of 68, 68, and 64. His remarkable third-round 64 was the lowest of the day. It catapulted him into contention for the $330,000 first-place prize. K.J. Choi sits in third at -6, still within striking distance of the leader.

The tournament has produced a tightly packed leaderboard behind the top three. Greg Chalmers and Miguel Angel Jiménez are tied for fourth at -5. Meanwhile, five players are bunched at -4, including Darren Clarke, Retief Goosen, and Colin Montgomerie.

The tournament concludes Sunday with final-round coverage on Golf Channel. Will Cabrera maintain his lead to capture the inaugural James Hardie Invitational title? Or will Cejka’s momentum carry him to victory? Share your predictions in the comments below!
