Jason Kelce’s Blunt Response to Coaching Future as Wife Kylie Causes Eagles Legend’s ‘Rift’ With Travis Kelce

Imagine a guy who’s worn nothing but green, bleeding it through every season of his career. And now, after putting his helmet down, he might get the chance to sit in the driver’s seat. I mean, that’s not a bad deal, is it? We’re talking about the one and only Jason Kelce here. This guy has been the backbone of the Eagles‘ offensive line, tough as nails, and always the heart of the locker room. From battling in the trenches to delivering speeches that make you want to run through a wall, Kelce has surely sealed his legacy. Now, could he be stepping into a new role for the team—leading off the field? That’s the question everyone’s asking.

Jason Kelce was one of the feared players on Philly’s O-line. He stood by his team when they won their first Lombardi back in ‘18. Jason earned 7 Pro Bowls for a good reason. His love for the sport didn’t end when he retired back in ‘24. From being an Eagles’ center to now being the center of attention, Jason made sure that he didn’t miss the opportunity to stay near the gridiron.

Why? Back in April, he signed a sweet three-year deal worth $24 million with ESPN. Now, he can often be seen as an analyst on ‘Monday Night Countdown.’ And to be honest, he’s as good at it as he was as a player!

Don’t you think Jason should’ve tried getting a gig as a coach before going into the whole TV business? Let’s be real! Who else would be a great fit if not him? But he must’ve had a good reason not to pursue that route. He recently shared some thoughts on the topic during his latest appearance on Barstool Sports.

The host asked, “When are you gonna start coaching?” and Jason had a pretty well-thought-out answer. He said, “Part of me would love to do that. But that would be a significant pay decrease from podcasting. If podcasting pays well. So, I’m navigating that. There’s also just the time commitment of those guys. It’s like, you know, I’ve got three young kids, a fourth on the way, and I don’t know that I’m ready for that yet.”

You know what? He’s absolutely right about the evident decline in pay. Sometimes, you have to sacrifice the things you love for something more rational. Yeah, coaching might be a dream job for Jason, but let’s be real—he’d only be pocketing around $150,000 a year. Meanwhile, he and his brother, Travis Kelce, are absolutely killing it with their podcast, New Heights, raking in around $33 million annually. And that’s not even counting his ESPN deal—that’s just the cherry on top.

And the most important element of it all is that before a player, an analyst, or a podcaster, Jason is a father. He’s got three beautiful daughters with his wife, Kylie, and now, they’re expecting their fourth. Just like he mentioned, stepping into a coaching role would mean a serious time commitment—one that he just can’t make right now.

His hands are already full, juggling life with Wyatt, Elliotte, and little Bennett, who’s already racing around the house. And with another baby girl on the way, Jason knows where his priorities lie. Football has given him everything, but at the end of the day, nothing beats being there for his family.

How did Kylie Kelce create a rift between Jason and Travis Kelce?

Man, this is the kind of family drama we love! Jason Kelce vs. Travis Kelce, but over Roulette of all things, Jason is fully convinced that his wife, Kylie, got hooked on the game because of Travis, and honestly, can you blame him? The Chiefs star has always been that guy hyping up the fun, so it’s totally believable that he gave Kylie the inside scoop. But Travis? He’s denying it like his life depends on it, claiming Kylie already knew how to play because she took French. French = Roulette skills? That’s a wild connection, but okay, Travis.

Jason, though, isn’t letting this slide. He’s out here reminding everyone, during their New Heights podcast, that his brother was the one teaching Kylie how to “play the outsides” and go for the European tables. “You taught her how to play,” Jason said, calling out Travis, who was straight-up amused by the whole thing. “I’ve turned her into it?” Travis asked, laughing. Jason was adamant: “You said, ‘You got to play this way, sit down on the European table and play the outsides.’” Meanwhile, Jason was just trying to figure out how his brother turned his wife into a full-on Roulette aficionado.

At this point, the only person who can clear this up is Kylie herself. Was she really a Roulette pro before meeting Travis, or is Jason onto something? Until she confirms, this might just go down as the greatest unsolved mystery in the Kelce family. Either way, it’s hilarious to see Jason getting worked up over a casino game, while Travis just sits back and enjoys the chaos he may or may not have caused. Classic Kelce energy! What are your views on Jason’s refusal to take up the role of coach for the Eagles?
