The backdrop of today’s story is not a racetrack or a team’s garage, it’s a teeming ice rink in the Indian Trail, North Carolina where a young girl named Brittany is busy frying chicken nuggets and fries. Little did she know that this would become the place where she would find the love of her life.

And at the heart of every great love story, there is an unexpected twist of fate, where two paths cross and the fates are sealed, forever changing the lives of both.
Before Joey Logano became a 3-time NASCAR champion and became a household name, he was just a 16-year-old like any of us trying to gather up the courage to talk up to a girl who caught his eye.
NASCAR’s Hollywood Love Story
The love story of Joey and Brittany started at the ice rink where they first crossed paths. Back then young Joey didn’t have enough courage to introduce himself to Brittany and asked her sister to help him out. Well, the first meeting was really awkward.
“I was an ice skater…And his family, they moved from Georgia and built this beautiful ice rink and Indian Trail and his sister skated and so I actually met his sister first…He was so awkward, he like put out his hand, he was like, hi I’m Joey and I was like hi I’m Britney,” Brittany laughed as she recounted their first encounter in Believe in the Good podcast with Ty Dillon’s wife Haley Dillon.
This moment of awkwardness between the pair was further followed by a future meeting of the pair at a Christmas party, where Logano’s playful nature led to Brittany having an embarrassing fall.
“We went to a Christmas party for the ice rink at someone’s house and I went to like sit down in the living room and he pulled the chair out from under me and I fell like in front of everybody and…I was 15 he was 16 and at that time I was pretty embarrassed,” Brittany recounted the moment that would later change everything in their lives. To make up for his act, Logano invited her to a private skating session which later led to a romantic moment between the couple.
“So he took me there [ice rink] and it was a whole like Happy Gilmore moment like the lights were low and he like held my hand and asked for my phone number and the whole deal and he used to drive the Zamboni there so it was just it was a whole vibe,” Brittany revealed the close and romantic moment between the two which has everyone swooning on the internet for the sheer romantic nature of the pair’s moment together.
Reigning Champion’s Frustrations
As Britanny shares their lovely and romantic love story, reigning champion Joey Logano is struggling as he defends his title this season. Before his last race at Las Vegas, Logano summarised his feelings on these performances this season, with a short and simple, “Frustrating is the one word that comes to mind.”
Even despite these setbacks, Logano remains positive about his and his team’s performance, confident that they will bounce back and return to the victory lane, “I still feel strong about our team. It’s still the championship-winning team. I feel great about that.”
After some joy at the superspeedway Logano’s No. 22 Ford hasn’t able to fire off. While he has a streak of top 15 runs in the last three races, a win is what a driver like Logano is expected to deliver. These might seem like worrying signs but we all know what happened last year. All he needs is one race win to lock himself in the playoffs, and from there on he can script last year’s title charge.
Team Penske has cracked the code to get the most out of their race cars in the playoffs. Ever since the Next Gen car has rolled out, the Bill France trophy has exchanged hands with Penske drivers. So it would be too early to count the #22 team out of the equation.
