“We’re going to continue to turn over every stone with our defense and with every other part of our team, too, to get as good as we can get it over the course of a long season.” John Harbaugh was determined enough last year to boost his defense. Although he and his Baltimore Ravens couldn’t get the proper answer in the season, this offseason surely gave them an opportunity to work on it. And they did!
John Harbaugh has reportedly shown his interest in the Los Angeles Rams’s free agent. According to Senior NFL insider Dianna Russini on X, “Rams LB and special teams ace Jake Hummel heads to the Ravens on a 1-year deal, per source.”
Hummel was with Sean McVay and the team for a long time. The Rams drafted him in 2022, and let us remind you that this is for the first time this linebacker has hit the free agency market. But now, Hummel finds his new home in John Harbaugh’s team, the Ravens.

So, how is Jake Hummel? Well, according to the stats, Hummel has played 117 defensive snaps and 827 on special teams. In the last season, he totaled 17 tackles in 17 games. And if we talk about his three-year stint with the Rams, the linebacker Hummel totaled 31 tackles.
It’s a good way to start to boost the defensive team for John Harbaugh. The reason is also because Ravens defensive tackle Michael Pierce has announced his retirement after a nine-season career with the team.
