“Denny bounced back today. I told him, ‘That’s the old Denny,” said Joe Gibbs. Denny Hamlin snagged the win at Martinsville Speedway after 10 years, and Coach Gibbs couldn’t hold back his pride. That victory was a bright spot in a storm of emotions. However, Hamlin’s 23XI Racing driver was at the end of a heated rant from his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Ty Gibbs!
Ty Gibbs has been going through a torrid 2025 so far, but today’s Martinsville run was a glimmer of hope. Gibbs ran in the top 15 for most of the race and ended with his best finish of the season. However, he did manage to make some enemies along the way and was furious with Tyler Reddick during the race, and even confronted him after!
Ty Gibbs’ woes aren’t ending any time soon
On lap 298, during the final stage, Ty Gibbs was running 11th and looked poised to sneak into the top 10. However, Tyler Reddick came charging behind him and heading into the Turn, and Reddick clipped Gibbs’s bumper and spun him sideways onto the track. Gibbs was furious and let out some choice words to his fellow Toyota.
Ty Gibbs was fuming over the radio, yelling, “Keep me away from that little f—– after this race, too.” His anger was through the airwaves as he was ready to throw down. Then, after the race, Reddick marched right up to Gibbs on pit road. While the conversation looked civil, Gibbs was not happy one bit but had to settle for an explanation as he ended the day in 13th place, just one spot ahead of Reddick in 14th.

Ty Gibbs is young, fiery, and clearly fed up. He was having his best day in months and was looking for a top-10 to gain some momentum heading into next week. However, Reddick’s bump cost him, and despite them sorting it out on pit road. We believe this could be a spicy story developing.
Stay tuned for updates!
