LB’s Surgery Update Forces Strong Decision From Mike MacDonald’s Seahawks as Tyler Lockett Release Saves $17M Cap Space

The Seattle Seahawks’s offensive line struggled this past season. Not even that! Mike MacDonald’s defensive team also fell later in the games from a solid start. Although they were able to register 10 wins in the game, their 7 losses pulled them away from clinching any spot in the playoffs. But the past is the past! So, at present, the question is: Will the Hawks make some noise this offseason? Hmmm….With recent updates on their linebacker, it seems things aren’t falling into place too soon for them.

According to Underdog NFL on X, “LB Ernest Jones IV underwent knee surgery; potential negotiations with teams could be delayed, per @BobCondotta.” The reports also suggest that it was just a “clean up” procedure, nothing too serious.

So, that means if all goes well, he could be back by June. Still, teams will want to check him out before making any move. So, on one hand, Mike MacDonald’s player’s future has been delayed. On the other hand, they took a strong decision on their veteran player, Tyler Lockett.

Mike MacDonald and the Seahawks released veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett. Why? Well, it was to save $17 million in cap space. It ended his 10-year marriage with the team. Bidding goodbye to the franchise, Lockett on social media quoted, “I really enjoyed being in Seattle! I met so many great people and captured so many great memories! The 12’s really make this place meaningful! Although, my time on the Seahawks may have run its course I’m thankful for everything!!God gets all the glory forever!!!!
