Lindsey Vonn is back! After hanging up her skiing shoes, Vonn surprised everybody when she decided to make a comeback at 40. While a lot of criticism came her way, Vonn was unperturbed. She had only one goal in her mind. And that was to win more and more World Cups to add to her tally of 82. While she has yet to achieve her goal, Lindsey Vonn has almost done the impossible. Coming back after 5 years, she has secured a podium finish!
Competing at the super-G at the World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho, Lindsey Vonn clinched the silver medal, in what was an emphatic victory. Elated with the win, Vonn took to her Instagram and wrote, “I DID IT!!!! 6 P2!! After everything I’ve been through, I fought my way back onto the podium!! I can’t even start to describe what this means to me… I have been overwhelmed with emotion and support from so many people.” Vonn also thanked all her fans and the ones who had kept their faith in her.
While Vonn acknowledged the fact that she will be enjoying her victory thoroughly, the skiing legend also stated that more such victories will follow soon.
