Kristaps Porzingis casually dropped a retirement bombshell, with MMA ambitions. The now Hawks 7’3″ big man with a championship ring and a history with Luka Doncic is apparently saving his body… to trade hardwood for the octagon.
Latvia is gearing up to face Slovenia in a friendly on Saturday. Porzingis didn’t downplay who’s coming: “I have a normal relationship with Luka Dončić. Of course, things didn’t go well in Dallas. That’s in the past.”
Of course, it is all in the past. Porzingis hasn’t faced Luka in Europe since 2017, and while the game won’t impact standings, he made it clear: “If we meet in the quarterfinals or semifinals, why not use it as extra motivation? We’ll still give it our all in a friendly game at home.”
