At the age of 17, she won her first Cadet (U17) World Championships in the 69 kg class, taking the gold in Budapest. A year later, in 2022, she entered the 2022 Senior World Wrestling Championships, held in Belgrade, Serbia, to become the youngest American (man or woman) to win a Senior World Championship. A historic final that ended with a 10-0 technicality saw the American life the championships. A year later, again the championships returned, and she won her second straight Senior World title. 2024 saw her become an Olympic world champion. For the 2025 Senior World Wrestling Championships return, she was the favorite to go for it. But she has an update. Quite a sad one!

Amit Elor took to her Instagram on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, to announce that, “Hi everyone, I’m sad to share that I will not be able to compete in Final X due to health reasons. I recently found out that I was anemic during the World Team Trials, which added up to be too much with my current injuries. In the meantime, I’m committed to safely working on strengthening my wrestling. I’m also very excited to contribute to the wrestling community by being more available for camps and clinics.” This came after Elor returned to the mat for the first time after the Paris Olympics for the 2025 Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky.

She also wrote, “Wishing the very best to all the wrestlers competing this weekend! No matter what, I’m sure we’re going to have an incredible team representing us at the world stage To my Final X competitor, @glaudealex, you got this and I’ll be cheering for you at worlds!
