Mets Stars Hilariously Play Baseball’s Version of ‘Kill, Date, Marry’ Featuring Taylor Swift and More

Citi Field’s new twist! And this time, it has New York Mets fans enjoying pop culture references, giving them a moment of fun during a rough season. A baseball-themed “kill, date, marry” game was played with the Mets star. That’s our usual slay game, but there was a little twist in it. Want to know what it was?

In this playful twist, “start” becomes “marry,” “bench” turns into “date,” and “cut” is swapped with “kill.” Interesting right? And the Mets player has to choose between the top pop stars. They were none other than Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift.

Three Mets were behind the mic, making the video much more memorable than any highlight reel: power-hitting ace Pete Alonso, dependable reliever Reed Garrett, and veteran starter Sean Manaea. That pop-culture skit with Mets players was shared on X by SNY Mets. It was shown on the big screen at Citi Field. And their choices will also make you giggle.

Pete Alonso got things off to a good start by “starting” Sabrina Carpenter. He then “cut” Taylor Swift without any doubt and “benched” Chappell Roan with a simple nod. And Reed Garrett switched things around. He “started” Taylor Swift, “benched” Sabrina Carpenter, and “cut” down Chappell Roan. Then Sean Manaea added his twist by “starting” Chappell Roan, “benching” Sabrina, and “cutting” Taylor Swift.

What makes this more funny? First, you see three guys who let go on every pitch and swing. Alonso, the “Polar Bear,” and two arms that have been relied on in challenging situations. All of them go off the field and into pop culture with honesty and no filter. It shows a little bit about their personalities.

And for the Mets? A light-hearted moment amid the struggles. However, the boys played well against the Braves and won. Just like Sabrina Carpenter’s song lyrics, “It never ends till the end, then you start again.”

The Mets have always given some moments for their fans to cheer them between the high-pressure situations. And how can we forget about their 5 Borough Mascot race?

More entertaining events include “Pokémon GO Night” on August 25, “Sesame Street Night” on August 27, and a Queens culture tribute on August 28. Tickets will commemorate each event. A Community Night on August 13 makes sure that fans and families feel the enthusiasm both on and off the field.

September’s cultural crescendo concludes with Stranger Things Night on September 12. Sci-fi and baseball nostalgia will be combined in vintage tees. On September 16, the Mets celebrate “Hispanic Heritage Night.” This event features a special logoed hat that celebrates diverse cultures. On September 17, the Mets will wrap up their Hall of Fame bobblehead series with Ed Kranepool and Jerry Koosman bobbleheads, ideal for collectors and fans.
