“Tom Brady, he’s an all-time great,” said the Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders while praising the GOAT in March. But he hadn’t anticipated that his name would also be in discussion with the legend. Just like each year for the past decade, things are heating up in April. Fans are getting pumped up about the new college talent entering the league. The Cowboys DE Micah Parsons defended him after another veteran attacked him for his throwing habit. It was hilarious yet deep at the same time.
It started when a reporter named John Frascella shared a video of Sanders’s throwing a ball from the Colorado Pro Day on April 4. He claimed that the signal caller double-tapped the ball a lot, which might be concerning for a lot of teams. The time it takes to release the ball can have a tremendous impact. But the NY Giants WR Darius Slayton joined the conversation and mocked the NFL defenders. He joked that if defensive backs were so good at picking up ball pats, they all would have recorded more than 8+ picks.
The Cowboys DE Micah Parsons couldn’t tolerate the joke and retorted, “You realize at Pat on the ball can be difference between a sack or a throw away/completion?” Things went south here. Slayton brought the GOAT, Tom Brady, into the conversation. He replied, “Tom Brady, literally the king of getting the ball out fast, patted the ball when he threw. So actually no patting the ball is not the difference,” citing the 7-times Super Bowl winner.
Comparing the greatest quarterback ever to sanders is why I’ll never entertain a football conversation with you!! Like what are we doing here?? https://t.co/3EH9bIlaPD

Patting the ball before throwing it could delay a ball by a split second. So, it could definitely have an effect. It doesn’t matter if Brady did it or not. Shedeur Sanders has to create his legacy. He can take lessons from the greatest player ever. Micah Parsons understood this and replied, “Comparing the greatest quarterback ever to Sanders is why I’ll never entertain a football conversation with you!! Like what are we doing here??” No doubts in that.
The college signal caller has often talked to Tom Brady about his technique and the league. After getting varied opinions on his selection, he is now dividing the league.
Shedeur Sanders impresses on his Pro Day
While the debate about the split-second late release continues, the NFL agents found the Pro Day impressive. The scouts saw him passing the ball. His accuracy and catch-ability were much greater than they expected.
Jordan Schultz, the Fox Sports analyst, cited a top league executive and said, “I just think he throws a really catchable ball. Accuracy is one thing, but catch-ability is another. Shedeur’s got both. And watching him live today, there was more power — more velocity — than I expected.” Shedeur’s performance was indeed brilliant.
This ability is also reflected in his numbers. In 4 years of college football, the QB recorded a 70.1% completion rate. Shedeur Sanders has also displayed confidence in press conferences. He reiterated his demand on the Pro Day by requesting the teams to sort out their choices. He wants the team to come out with their choices.
The league is eagerly awaiting the return of the prodigal son of HOFer Deion Sanders. Coach Prime has left it on the player to choose his destination. It’s all in the hands of destiny now.
