Mike Gundy Throws Gauntlet at Brent Venables as Oklahoma State HC’s Latest Move Pushes for Bedlam Revival

Woah! The spring season was expected to be all easy-breezy after the chilly winter months. But look how the changing seasons chose to turn the tables in college football. Head coaches like Matt Rhule and Ryan Day along with a bunch of others, have closed their doors for the spring games. On the flip side, there is Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders, who is all set for the scoring showdown that involves a scrimmage against Fan Brown’s Syracuse Orange. This time, Oklahoma State HC too chose to spice things up a little. Mike Gundy wants to face off with Brent Venables’ Oklahoma Sooners this spring. Now that’s how the Bedlam is all set to revive.

It all started with Deion, who thought of adding a bit of twist to the spring games plot. “I’d like to play against another team in the spring…To have it competitive, playing against your own guys kind of gets monotonous and you really can’t tell the level of your own guys.” This is what Coach Prime had to say about his wish. Maybe Gundy feels that way, too. On Tuesday, March 25, he met the reporters in Stillwater. He was asked about his opinion on the fact that spring games now opens door for scrimmaging another team and not following the traditional format. The Oklahoma State HC called it “great.” After all, what better chance to revive the Bedlam series?

Oklahoma State HC Mike Gundy suggests Oklahoma and Oklahoma State should play each other as their spring games

“I think it’s a great idea… We should do a home-and-home with OU in the spring… Charge $25 a head, they can use it for NIL.” pic.twitter.com/CIud9lOeV4

Looks like Gundy had somewhat of a plan in his mind to face off Venables’ squad. Now, what will be the plan of action? Gundy and Venables will go for two matchups a year. And for the venue, they would be alternating it while also splitting the revenue. Gundy shared, “Honestly, for us, we should do a home and home with OU in the spring… They should come here on the 19th. I think their’s is earlier in the year, we should go down there and play a home-and-home against each other in the spring. Charge $25 a head, they can use it for NIL, we can use it for NIL.”
