Miller Moss Receives Surprising 900-yds News After Major Crisis Rocks Louisville in Intense SEC Battle

The spring transfer battle will wrap up soon. Before the clock ticks off, the Cardinals look to hone their last-minute roster strength. They need to address the glaring needs in their wide receiver and tight end positions. They already boast two giant playmakers, Caulin Lacy and Chris Bell. Now, they need to be more proactive to back Miller Moss up ahead in the season. Well, Cortez Hankton should lace up his shoes to tackle a new face in his squad, as the Cardinals managed to get a huge leg up in their persistent interest in San Jose State’s TreyShun Hurry.

Last season, Hurry kept on downplaying his talent as the Spartans had all their focus on the All-American wide receiver Nick Nash. The Cardinals’ target is a 6-foot-2, 194-pound receiver who is a pro in producing 50/50 catches and extending the chains. Now, you might wonder why they would go for an underrated target like Hurry. Well, Coach Brohm likes the idea of taking some developing players under his stewardship and leaving them as top-tier players in the market. That’s the secret pleasure here, or in other words, the trademark traits of a class program.

The kid came off with a decent stat, including 28 catches last season for 482 receiving yards and two touchdowns under his belt. Hurry secured 50 receiving yards or more in just five games last year, including two standout receiving-yard performances (66 and 71, respectively). He oozed out his best against the ACC opponent, Stanford Cardinal. In his three years with the Spartans, he racked up nearly 900 yards altogether.. Now, it is not rocket science to understand that landing the Paraclete High School alumna won’t be a smooth, hassle-free ride for the Cardinals. They are already facing threats from schools like Miami, BYU, West Virginia, and USF. But for now, the Cardinals got some good news. The 6’2 prodigy told ON3 that he will be at the Louisville campus for an official visit on Sunday, April 21st.

Hurry started off his collegiate gig with Weber State before joining forces with the Spartans. During his two-year tenure with the Wildcats, he worked closely under head coach Jay Hill. In a twist of fate, Hill is now coaching the BYU offense as the offensive coordinator. The past tie between Hurry and Hill might give the Cougars an edge over the other contending schools. But as soon as the Cardinals take each step with caution, especially when they’re on visits this weekend, they’ll be in a good spot.

The biggest addition of their offseason is coach Brohm, and Miller Moss looks to master the Louisville offense. He already turned heads in the spring, completing 18 of 26 for 208 yards with a touchdown and interceptions. While it’s a thrill for the team to look forward to his mojo, it forces them to do their part. A WR3 in the depth chart is what keeps Brohm awake at night. Before taking a step ahead with Hurry, they have already let go of another lucrative target on the spot.

The Cardinals lost a big receiver target to Missouri

“It’s a lot more on the quarterback, which is one of the reasons I came here. I wanted to evolve and become the best version of myself as a player,” the USC transfer said following his spring exposure. His coach, a phenom, is leaving no stone unturned to make his vision a reality. They were relentlessly pursuing Illinois State standout, Xavier Loyd. Loyd caught 66 passes for 912 yards and 6 touchdowns at Illinois State.

His transition from FCS to FBS, however, doesn’t pose much of a headache, as he has been there before for Kansas State. Of course, the success percentage will remain a concern, but under Brohm’s dynamic offense, he could flourish into a bigger threat on the sidelines. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver received some communications from Brohm and his staff earlier this week.

However, in a decisive twist, he chose Missouri over the others in the suitors’ list and signed the papers. Just right after the Cardinals landed Collins, Pete Nakos spilled the beans that the Illinois State transfer had officially committed to the Missouri Tigers.

Illinois State WR Xavier Loyd has signed with Missouri, @On3sports has learned.

A big miss out for Jeff Brohm. But never mind, if they still can woo Hurry, Miller Moss can take a moment to sit back and chill.
