Imagine reaching the top of the UFC lightweight rankings, only to find yourself suddenly sidelined by CEO Dana White. That’s exactly what happened to Arman Tsarukyan after he withdrew from his UFC 311 title fight against Islam Makhachev. Months later, the Armenian standout—still ranked No. 1—has finally broken his silence. Want to know what the former UFC number one contender had to say? Stay tuned as we are back with another episode of MMA roundup.
From Arman Tsarukyan, we will move on to Conor McGregor, who has given some tactics regarding BKFC, and finally, we will end our montage with an aspiring lightweight who might have just begged for a fight from the head honcho. So, without any further ado, let us get started!
Arman Tsarukyan releases statement after months of inactivity
“Anyone in the top four, top five (is who I want next). I want that world title. … I want Dustin (Poirier), Justin (Gaethje), Charles (Oliveira), or the little posh boy Arman (Tsarukyan) – any of them four,” Paddy Pimblett declared after the Briton brutally finished Michael Chandler to continue his winning streak at UFC 314. ‘The Baddy’ wants anyone from the top 5, especially Arman Tsarukyan, with whom he has had several back-and-forths. The Armenian hasn’t been that verbose since he pulled out of his battle against Islam Makhachev at UFC 311. However, it appears that things are getting out of hand for him.
Taking all of the backlash, Arman Tsarukyan took to his X handle to give a message to his fans: “Many people ask when my next fight is. I am calm – I am training, focusing, and waiting for my moment. Sports are not always about fairness, but I believe that if you work, do not give up, and stay true to yourself, everything will come. The main thing is to be ready when the time comes.”

After Tsarukyan pulled out of his fight, Dana White, in his statement at the UFC 311 post-fight presser, emphasized that he would not give an immediate title shot to the Armenian and that he would have to start it all over again. Well, the UFC has yet to book any fight for the former title challenger, but they might book it soon. For now, let us move forward to Conor McGregor!
Mike Perry drops down Conor McGregor’s BKFC plan
Robbie Lawler retired from the UFC after he knocked out Niko Price in July 2023 at UFC 290. It was a picture-perfect retirement that fighters crave, however, it appears that ‘Ruthless’ was not content with his ending. The former welterweight champion might make it back to the world of fighting in a fight with Mike Perry. “We’re working on it, we’re working on it.” BKFC founder David Feldman stated, when asked about Mike Perry vs. Robbie Lawler.
The BKFC CEO has made his statement, but how much truth is in it? While having a conversation with The Schmo, Perry was asked about Conor McGregor being at the helm of BKFC, to which Mike Perry stated, “He’s calling out the little guys, Jeremy. Stevens wants me to cut my leg off and put a weight clause on me. The only thing that matters is if Feldman and Bare Knuckle call me and make an offer.”
He further added, “That hasn’t happened—I’m waiting on that to happen. They tell me every day that Robbie Lawler is going to happen, that they got things done with the UFC, that that fight will be in the making. But that’s all I ever hear. It’s been a long time.” Well, as of April, nothing is certain, but Perry’s return to the BKFC is a sure thing. Given that, let us conclude our roundup with a piece of information about Rafael Fiziev.
Rafael Fiziev wants a fight from the lightweight division
The Azerbaijan-Thai fighter last embraced the Octagon against Justin Gaethje at UFC 313. Dan Hooker pulled off his fight against Gaethje due to a broken hand and ‘Ataman’ had to fill in his shoes to save the card. After going on a war against the former interim champion for the entire three rounds, Gaethje was declared the winner of the fight.
A month has passed since that fight, and Rafael Fiziev appears to be ready to step back inside the Octagon once again. Taking to his socials, Fiziev uploaded a video of him kicking the pads with a caption that read, “My lovely lightweights, please… somebody fight me!”
