MMA News Roundup: Conor McGregor Pressures Mike Perry, DWCS Fighter Update, Amir Albazi Reveals Next Fight Date

Conor McGregor has taken aim at Mike Perry once again. This time, it was in celebration of Josh Dyer’s epic TKO win over Mike Richman at BKFC 74. Right after garnering praise from the audience, ‘D-Day’ stepped forward to call out ‘Platinum’. And that was something that impressed McGregor even more. But what did ‘The Notorious’ have to say about it? That’s what we’ll see in today’s episode of MMA News Roundup.

After that, we’ll take a look at a new entry in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. And finally, we’ll end the trip with the possible return of Amir Albazi. So without any further ado, let’s dive right into it!

Conor McGregor takes aim at Mike Perry after BKFC 74

Josh Dyer had indeed impressed Conor McGregor with his performance against Richman. On top of that, he made sure that his name echoed in corners that BKFC stars usually don’t think of. Yes, we’re talking about his desire to slap Dwayne Johnson. And after he called out Mike Perry, McGregor took to Instagram and shared a post by BKFC on his IG Story. The post showed a picture of Dyer donning the BKFC light heavyweight belt.

And in the caption, ‘The Notorious’ wrote, “MY NEW LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT WOLRD CHAMPION IS A NASTY VINDICTIVE PIECE OF WORK. Call them all out our champion. Go outside the sphere. Slap them around they can do nothing about it say it more. The Rock Johnson [Mike Perry] he called you out as well. Not a whisper out of you. you have never been bare knuckle world champion. We made a fake belt for you. Most violent jak paul mvp hahahaa. DONT MENTION BARE KNUCKLE FC AGAIN.”

The excitement was indeed pretty high with such callouts. But let’s turn to the UFC for now. There are reports that we’ll be seeing the rise of a new fighter pretty soon. Let’s find out more about it.

Dana White has found yet another undefeated fighter for DWCS

The famed independent MMA reporter and MMA instructor, KevinK, took to X and shared the big news with the fighting community. He shared a picture of the new undefeated prospect posing alongside the former bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley. But who exactly is the prospect? The MMA reporter wrote, “8-0 Tommy “Gun” McMillen Will Be Fighting in August on Dana White Contender Series. Opponent and Date is TBD. McMillen was previously booked Last Year Against Austin Bashi.”

You got it right! McMillen also fights out of Montana, just like ‘Suga’. The 27-year-old mixed martial artist has won 3 bouts by KO/TKO and another 5 by submission. On top of that, he has already claimed a championship belt at Fusion Fight League with a round one submission via a guillotine choke. And the cherry on top? All of his wins are first-round finishes. Needless to say, Dana White will be pretty happy to get a lightweight fighter like that.

Now, it’s time to avert our eyes to the flyweight realm. After all, Amir Albazi made a huge announcement through social media. Let’s take a look at it.

Amir Albazi promises a return to the UFC

Taking to Instagram, Albazi shared a picture of himself in the Octagon and announced, “Contract is signed See you soon.” Albazi is definitely a force to be reckoned with. He even defeated the likes of Kai Kara-France, even though it was a split decision win. However, when he faced Brandon Moreno back in November 2022, he wasn’t able to secure the win and lost via a unanimous decision.

Later on, he competed at ADXC 8, but lost the grappling bout as well. Nevertheless, the wheel of time has seemingly turned for the better. But who will he go up against, and when? KevinK had a guess to make about that. He hinted at Albazi making a return on July 26, 2025. And the opponent could be Tatsuro Taira. No doubt, the excitement regarding the news is pretty high.
