Mom Randi’s Strong Advice to Patrick Mahomes Before Super Bowl Loss vs Eagles

Randi Mahomes continues to encourage fellow sports parents. The proud mother of NFL star Patrick Mahomes is gaining attention with her new initiative: Sports Parent Academy. Known for cheering from the stands and raising a Super Bowl-winning quarterback as a single mom, Randi has become a respected voice in the athletic parenting community.

At her first-ever Ultimate Sports Parent Brunch during the NFL Draft, she shared a powerful message on women’s empowerment. She also revealed the advice she gave Patrick before his Super Bowl game against the Eagles—wisdom that resonated widely.

In a recent Instagram post, the mom of three shared the core message she always gives her son before big games like the Super Bowl:
“When it’s game time, even before something big like the Super Bowl, I always tell them the same thing. Go out there and have fun!! Don’t overthink it. Just do what you love and what you know best. That’s what I say to keep them grounded in those big moments.” Randi is now focused on empowering other athletic parents with advice and support through her Sports Parent Academy.

Through this post, Mama Mahomes also revealed that she never hesitates to seek support from her friend and co-worker, Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo—a psychologist, author, and motivational speaker. “And when I need a little backup, I turn to my friend Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo. She always has the best advice on how to support your kids with confidence,” she wrote in her caption.

This gives new context to Mom Randi’s behind-the-scenes influence before Patrick Mahomes’s Super Bowl game. Advice that may well have helped the quarterback during his showdown against the Eagles in February. Although the Chiefs faced a 40–22 loss in Super Bowl 59, it didn’t dampen Mahomes’s drive. The QB has already begun training for the 2025 season. That’s a testament to the mindset his mother instilled in him.

Despite the setback, the six-time Pro Bowler already had three Super Bowl wins under his belt: Super Bowl LIV in 2020, Super Bowl LVII in 2023, and Super Bowl LVIII in 2024.

These victories speak volumes about the effectiveness of Randi’s guidance. Now, the experienced and proud NFL mom is sharing those hard-earned insights with other sports parents. She also acknowledged the major role her teammate and friend Dr. Lombardo plays in running the Sports Parent Academy.

“If you want to hear more from Dr. Lombardo, she also has a great cameo in my Sports Parent Academy course. We’re now offering a presale discount of 20% for those who purchase the course early!” she added, while announcing the special offer. This came shortly after Mom Randi officially launched the Sports Parent Academy.

Randi Mahomes launched the sports parent academy

On April 15, Mom Randi thrilled fans by announcing her most anticipated project. The exciting launch came after she had kept it under wraps for nearly 10 months, following her retirement in June from a nearly 20-year career at the Hollytree Country Club.

In an Instagram post, Patrick Mahomes shared his support: “After months of praying, planning, and putting my heart into this… Sports Parent Academy is coming to life. .” That’s exciting.

At this moment, she also clarified her vision behind the project—and it’s admirable. With this SPA, Randi aims to establish a community where athletic parents can share inspiring stories, seek support, and discover the best ways to guide their children’s sporting journeys. Randi’s experience as a mother watching her son navigate the highs and lows of athletics at every level uniquely positions her to offer valuable insight.

She also shared more details about the academy and her passion for the project. “Sports Parent Academy is a comprehensive online course and playbook, created to walk alongside YOU as sports parents through every season of your journey with confidence, clarity, and purpose,” she said.

Given everything Randi experienced while raising Patrick—from Little League and high school success to NFL glory—this endeavor feels deeply personal. “I’ve learned so much over the years,” she stated, “and I can’t wait to share it all with you. The wins, the hard lessons, and everything in between.” This initiative isn’t just about offering guidance. It’s about creating a support network that helps parents feel less alone amid the chaos of competitive sports.

It’s clear that Mom Randi built this from genuine, lived experience, not just theory.
