Mournful MLB World Offers Condolences After Rockies 2x Golden Glover & Wife Lose Unborn Baby

Just days prior, Brendon Doyle, the Colorado Rockies outfielder, who has been an outstanding player, was placed on a bereavement list. He didn’t play against the Washington Nationals on April 18, 2025. And just today, in a heartfelt post on social media, Doyle revealed the devastating news behind his absence. It’s a loss no parent should ever have to face.

Doyle and his wife, Rose, were heartbroken to learn that their baby no longer had a heartbeat. They were at a routine 12-week checkup on April 17 when they got to know.

Doyle, in his Instagram post, said, “This is a post we never thought we would have to write. April 17th, at Rose’s 12-week check-up, our baby no longer had a heartbeat. We have lost our baby. We cannot describe nor fathom the amount of heartbreak we have had to endure these past couple of days.” Doyle is taking his time to drive and process the loss with this ride. However, he expressed his gratitude for all the support that he got from his friends and family.

“While we take the time to grieve this tremendous loss, we cherish our privacy but treasure the love, support, and kindness that has come our way from family and friends,” Doyle wrote. Right now, the baseball world as a whole is coming around, offering their condolences and understanding for the couple. It’s a loss that nothing can cover.
