Mourning Son’s Loss, 17YO Track & Field Athlete’s Father Sends Out Bold Message: ‘Do Not Politicize’

Austin “My son is gone, and he’ll never come home again,”. What began as a dispute ended up with parents losing their son and a brother losing his best friend. A desperate 17-year-old tried to stop the bleeding from the chest of his twin brother. But he could not, and his brother passed away in his arms. And now, Austin Metcalf’s father has a message for all!

Austin’s father, Jeff Metcalf, said, “Austin was the light of my life.” Further talking about the bond that Austin shared with Hunter, he said, “They were so tight. They had the best bond. They were best friends…And now, I have to focus on taking care of Hunter.” While they still feel the loss, the Metcalf family has a request.

Father Jeff Metcalf told America Reports co-anchor John Roberts on April 3, “I want to clarify something right off to start because I’ve already heard some rumors and gossip. This was not a race thing. This is not a political thing.” He does not want his son’s death to be given any political angle.

Fox News reported the father saying, “Do not politicize this. It’s not … this is a human being thing. This person made a bad choice and affected both his family and my family forever.”  The authorities have reported the incident back to Wednesday morning, April 2, when the local 11-5A track and field meet was on in the David Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Allegedly, the accused was told that he was in the wrong seat by Austin and his brother, Hunter.

The accused didn’t budge, and a heated argument followed that ended up with the accused reportedly taking out a knife and s——- Metcalf in his chest. Hunter, holding his brother, called his father, who immediately rushed to the scene. The two of them took Austin to the hospital, where he was declared dead. The accused has been arrested on the charge of m—–. He was transferred from Frisco City Jail to Collin County Jail on April 3rd, with a bond set at $1 million.
