NASCAR returns to the East Coast this weekend as Homestead-Miami Speedway hosts all three national series. After a busy West Coast Swing, drivers and teams are ready to battle on one of the most unique tracks in the sport. Homestead has a long history in NASCAR, once serving as the championship finale from 2002 to 2019. While it no longer holds that honour, it remains a fan favourite.
The 1.5-mile oval, known for its progressive banking, provides some of the best racing on intermediate tracks. This weekend could bring major shakeups. The Cup Series has seen only three different winners in 2025, while the Truck Series has had just two. Homestead presents a fresh challenge and a chance for new contenders to emerge. Notably, Kyle Larson will attempt a rare triple-duty weekend, racing in the Truck, Xfinity, and Cup Series.
Apart from that a high number of crowds might also push Miami’s bid to host championship race again. Notably, in November NASCAR COO Steve O’Donnell had said, “I would say that in March when we go back [to Homestead], how do we do from an attendance standpoint? That’s going to be really big for us to see.” So, in other words a successful race weekend might make Miami’s case strong to have a rotated championship race venue.

Where to watch & ticket information
Fans can watch the races on a mix of FOX, FS1, The CW, and Amazon Prime Video. The Truck Series race will air on FOX, the Xfinity race on The CW, and the Cup Series race on FS1. Cup Series practice and qualifying will be available on Amazon Prime Video. For those listening on the go, MRN and NASCAR Radio Network will provide live radio coverage.
However, for those attending in person, ticket prices vary. A Sunday Cup Series pass costs between $11 and $149 for adults, while a full weekend grandstand pass ranges from $83 to $160. Saturday tickets, which include the Xfinity race and Cup practice, range from $11 to $50. Truck Series race tickets on Friday also cost between $11 and $50.
Notably, for families, NASCAR offers discounted youth tickets. Kids 12 and under can attend for free on Friday and Saturday in general admission sections. On Sunday, children’s tickets cost just $10 in reserved grandstand sections when purchased with an adult ticket. Each adult ticket allows up to four youth tickets.
Weather report & impact of ongoing wildfires
Florida’s unpredictable weather is always a factor, but conditions look favourable for race weekend. Friday’s temperatures will hover around 75°F during the day and drop to 68°F in the evening, with almost no chance of rain. Saturday will be slightly warmer, reaching a high of 78°F, with a 4% chance of precipitation in the afternoon.
However, Sunday’s Cup race will see temperatures peak at 81°F with only a slight chance of rain. But the dry weather has also triggered a wildfire in Miami. On Tuesday, traffic was halted for hours after massive smoke and flames grappled the NH1. Despite concerns, NASCAR has confirmed there are no changes to the schedule. According to insider Bob Pockrass, the fires are a few miles south of the track and have not impacted preparations.
Driver lineup & entry list
The upcoming Straight Talk Wireless 400 Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami will feature 37 cars, meaning every entry will qualify. The only non-charter car is JJ Yeley in the No. 44 for NY Racing. With last year’s winner Tyler Reddick looking to defend his victory, he will face tough competition from in-form Christopher Bell. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has won three out of the first five races. Meanwhile, in the Xfinity series 39 cars will fight for 38 places.
Kyle Larson is one of the non-charter entries, driving the No. 17 for Hendrick Motorsports. Larson’s presence adds excitement, as he aims to win across all three series in the same weekend. Justin Bonsignore (No. 19) and Corey Heim (No. 24) are also in unchartered entries. Last but not least, the Truck series will see 34 entries. Larson will race for Spire Motorsports in the No. 07 truck.
He will be joined by Corey Day in another No.7 truck for Spire Motorsports. Apart from them, another Cup series driver Ross Chastain will also participate in the race. He will drive No. 44 for Niece Motorsports. Brandon Jones is another uncharted entry for this week’s Baptist Health 200 race at Homestead-Miami. Check out the full entry list here.
Tailgating Policies and RV Camping
Homestead-Miami Speedway offers a great tailgating experience, with RV parking available at the Palm Drive RV Lot on the south side of the track. To secure an RV spot, fans must purchase at least two race tickets. Reserved camping prices range from $159 to $267, depending on location. Tent camping is also allowed under similar conditions.
For those looking for a complete race weekend experience, the infield and general admission parking areas provide great spots for tailgating. The atmosphere at Homestead is always electric, with fans enjoying pre-race festivities before heading into the grandstands to watch the action.
