Jayden Daniels’ Commanders ended their season on a heartbreaking note in the championship game. But the whole of Washington was shocked to see how they played in the wild-card and divisional games. Though they fell one step short of an appearance in the Super Bowl, the rookie’s rise suggests they will be back there or thereabouts again. But as they move towards planning for the future, the NFL has slapped them with bad news.
The NFL’s operations division has hit the Washington Commanders with a strong update, charging fines for unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct. Daniels’ teammate, Benjamin St-Juste, has been fined for unnecessary roughness. And the charge is the second-highest among the championship game fines. Benjamin St-Juste’s purse will take a hit of $16,883. But what did he do in the NFC championship game?
Benjamin St-Juste has been fined for the hip-drop tackle he made on Will Shipley of the Eagles. He did that in the 4th quarter after Shipley had completed a 57-yard run. This could be a big hit for Daniels’ cornerback. Why? The Commanders #25 hit free agency two days ago which already has become a headache for players. And paying $16,883 for a tackle after the bitter news just sucks. The Commanders signed him in 2021 on a four-year deal for $5,100,752. And with them not exercising the last year option, he’s into the free agency market now.
The good news for Jayden Daniels’ team is that St-Juste is the only one (formerly) of their squad who has been fined by the league. But you know, the biggest of the 2024-25 season to the Washington Commanders would be losing an important coach to another franchise. Wanna know who’s that coach and what’s the reason he left Jayden Daniels and the crew? Let’s dive in.
Dan Quinn lost a special assistant, but why?
It looks weird when the team loses an important game and within a week, coaches start searching for better opportunities. Well, after all, it’s their choice and business is business. The updates were coming after the championship loss that the Commanders‘ coaches have started looking for more opportunities. One of the saddest news for Jayden Daniels and head coach Quinn would be to lose John Glenn, their assistant special teams coach… and where did he land the job?

The newly hired Raiders head coach Pete Carroll has hired John Glenn. But there is a genuine reason why the Carroll-Glenn chemistry will work for Tom Brady‘s Raiders. Did you know that Glenn was a linebackers coach at the Seahawks when Super Bowl champion Pete Carroll was the head coach? Yeah, it was a time when Carroll, Glenn, and Dan Quinn himself were working together for the Seattle Seahawks. The 2024 season with the Commanders was Glenn’s 13th year in the NFL as a coach.
The Commanders are busy connecting important pieces for the upcoming season. This season was a shock for the entire football world as people didn’t expect Daniels and Quinn to achieve what they did with this squad. Now, expectations will be high. Let’s see if they can keep progressing in the right direction.
