Travis Hunter in the NFL is a trash idea! Don’t be too quick to shout at us. We don’t say this. This seems to be the collective fans’ boys as Coach Prime’s favorite boy inches closer to being the No.1 draft pick of the year 2025. Part of veterans and fans obviously look more convinced than ever that the two-way Colorado star’s superb skill set and everything will smoothly slide into the pro, but read that again. That’s just a part. The other part is visibly venting out against the wishy-washy success of the Buffs’ standout star. There is a strategic debate about whether or not Hunter can retain the same hype in the NFL, where he will be bound to play only one position.
Hunter is a man of character and is a much of dedicated football player than you could imagine. He won every possible award in the Buffs’ jersey. With a heck of 1,258 yards and 15 TDs receiving as a WR and 36 total tackles, along with four interceptions on defense, Hunter took the central role in leading his team to a 9-4 season at Boulder. Although he couldn’t cap off the season like a returning superhero receiving a 36-14 blow against BYU at the Alamo Bowl, what he did in his storied college football career is unmatched.
Out of all of his stupendous phenomena, the one that stands out the most is his dual role in the team. That’s not only generational but also rare in his rank. But after a lot of back and forth, the verdict comes clean that he won’t be able to maintain his most unique flex under the NFL for obvious reasons. NFL works differently than college football settings, and it’s way more hectic to make an impact on both sides of the ball without keeping your health online.
So, fans pour doubt that he can easily lose his extra hype (as they believe much of his value comes from playing two sides) when he steps into the National League. Philadelphia Eagles star AJ Brown has already dished him a stern reality check, saying, “It’s going to be tough for him… I’m not saying he can’t do it because who am I to tell him he can’t do anything, but he’s got a lot of work ahead of him.’ But regardless of the mixed-bag opinions, the NFL keeps doing its job. Ahead of the NFL combine, they posted the special portfolio of Travis Hunter, praising his super athleticism and big numbers.
But a chunk of fans simply don’t buy the big lofty words on the 21-year-old and bashed him in the comments like the worst thing in the draft. That’s as awful as it sounds! But fans’ quirk is, as always, tricky to read.
CFB fans throw dirt on Travis Hunter dismissing the NFL combine hype
The NFL video claims that they haven’t seen any prospect like Hunter in years. Whether it’s his on-field dominance or off-field spontaneity, this kid stands out as something special in every way. But what they did mostly is to hype up his snaps over any other stat. Fans find it deceiving to some extent. While snaps are a necessary attribute of one’s talent, the CFB community believes there are more valuable stats than snaps in football to judge a player at his best. ”First time I ever seen snap as a stat over rushing, receiving, ints or sacks, crazy,” one fan called out the faulty NFL judgment.
Fans think if any other player would get the opportunity to play both sides, they would have amassed a similar number like Travis. There is no rocket science in it. ‘‘I am pretty sure there have been better talents in drafts in the past two that actually played against real competition,” another fan stated it as it was without any qualms.
People point out how he is average in both positions and how the media propaganda does him a favor in staying relevant no matter what. But the NFL is a totally different ball game. It’s quite common for them to place anybody on a pedestal before the draft, as one fan noted the crap commenting, ‘‘Ya say this every year” while another predicted a downfall of the projected No 1 pick of this year, calling him a ”Future bust”
Some believe it’s only the big money and big media leverage that put him ahead on his fame, and it’s just a matter of time before he gets exposed brutally: ‘He will be knocked down a peg like Sauce did:”
We will see how the kid’s highly debated future pans out in the NFL.
