Nike Brings Jordan Chiles and Mother Closer as UCLA Gymnast Becomes Teary-Eyed

Jordan Chiles seems to be having an incredible journey, from Olympic glory to collegiate gymnastics stardom. After a rollercoaster experience in the 2024 Olympics and securing a gold in an all-around event, Chiles continues to shine in UCLA Gymnastics as well. Off the mat, Chiles has been already making waves. Nike featured her in their latest campaign after she signed a deal with the sportswear giant in 2023. Chile’s mother has been her biggest cheerleader, celebrating her every milestone. This was clearly evident in the ad campaign that featured both Chiles and her mother.

The nine-time All-American Gymnast has been a force in gymnastics for years, proving her potential from as early as 2021. She kicked off that year by winning the Winter Cup and finishing third in All-around at U.S. Championships and Olympic Trials. She then earned a silver medal in her first Olympic Games in Tokyo. Afterwards, she took her talent to UCLA, where she is already a standout winning NCAA titles on uneven bars and floor exercises in 2023.

Jordan Chiles’ was featured in Nike’s latest campaign posted on Nike’s official Instagram page on 13 February 2025.  The ad campaign highlighted her deep bond with her mother Gina. In the campaign, she is handed a receipt listing all her achievements, which got Chiles a little teary-eyed. As she read through the list, she expressed heartfelt gratitude for her mother’s never-ending support.

Wow, we have back-to-back Olympic medalist, the perfect 10, nine-time All-American gymnast, 17-time Olympic and world championship medalist. As much as my mother has done within my life, within my sport, I truly wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for her. I love this,” said Chiles. She is been making headlines again after coming back to collegiate gymnastics. Chiles recently achieved the second perfect 10 of 2025 even after strict judgment rules, marking her 10th career perfect score against Michigan State.

Meanwhile, Nike has reinforced its commitment to gymnastics, serving as the official apparel and footwear provider for Team USA for the Paris Olympics and Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Jordan Chiles was also featured alongside Sha’Carri Richardson, A’ja Wilson, Sophia Wilson, and Caitlin Clark, in Nike’s 2025 Super Bowl commercial. Through Nike’s campaign, her bond with her mother was beautifully highlighted. It showed how much she values the person who has stood with her every step of the way. Now, as she is back with UCLA Gymnastics, her comeback has been an upliftment for the entire team. It’s been clear with her recent performances and accolades.

Jordan Chiles marking a strong comeback with UCLA Gymnastics

Jordan Chiles has been looking exciting to watch after her return to the UCLA Bruins women’s gymnastics squad. On December 12, 2024, the Big Ten Championship’s official social media “X” handle announced Jordan Chiles’ return to UCLA, the college she was representing in the NCAA in 2022 and 2023.

For the third time this season on February 4th, UCLA gymnast Jordan Chiles was selected as the Big Ten Conference Gymnast of the Week, while sharing the award with Nikki Smith from Michigan State. This was Chiles’ eighth career conference gymnast of the week award and third in the last four weeks. It was kind of a big thing as Chiles was battling through illness all week and had a 104-degree fever on Wednesday last week, and she still managed to score a perfect 10 with her prince-themed routine.

The perfect 10 also allowed UCLA to edge victorious over Michigan State by 197.300-197.200. Chiles needed to score 9.925 to give UCLA the victory, and she was perfect, recording her second 10 of the year and her fifth career 10 on floor. However, she has a major deduction on uneven bars that hurt UCLA’s overall event score.

The point to be noted is that Chiles now has 10 career-perfect 10s, moving her into the No. 5 on UCLA’s all-time list. Only two other Bruins in school history Jamie Dantzscher (17) and Katelyn Ohashi (nine) have more floor 10s than Chiles. By overcoming all the barriers, she continues to prove why she is one of the brightest stars in women’s gymnastics.
