The Super Bowl is just around the corner and Patrick Mahomes is locked in. The Chiefs Superstar is set to become the only under-30 quarterback in NFL history to start five Super Bowl games. Absolutely impressive, right? But, you know, Mahomes was recently surprised with a college basketball game. Yeah, he is an avid fan of college basketball and was impressed after Texas Tech‘s OT win over Houston. The 29-year-old QB has shared a 5-word message for Kirby Hocutt‘s team.
This was after an exciting game between Houston and Texas Tech, which also saw some controversy and criticism for star player JT Toppin‘s ejection. Texas Tech director, Kirby Hocutt, also said that he was “appalled” after Toppin’s toss. College basketball has a strict rule regarding ejection if a player purposefully tries to hit the opponent’s sensitive parts. In Toppin’s case, he was trying to put his leg out and ended up catching his opponent where it really hurts. The refs ruled that it was not just an incidental hit by Toppin.
Nonetheless, Toppin’s side managed to bring home the result without him on the court and earned the praise of the NFL star. Patrick Mahomes wrote on X, “All heart!!! Big time win!!”
