Pete Alonso just dodged disaster.
He nearly saw his season, and who knows, maybe even his career—flash before his eyes.
The New York Mets slugger, who is fresh off signing his deal with the team, narrowly escaped a potentially career-ending accident. Actually, during the morning workouts, a ball took an unexpected turn. And it struck Pete Alonso right in the eye.
This just sent shockwaves across the Mets camp.
Alonso just brushed the entire event off, saying, “Just another day.” His response is as fearless as his swing!
Steve Cohen fought tooth and nail to bring back Alonso; he even went down to meet him to convince him. Now had they lost one of the franchise cornerstones even before the season began?
Thankfully, nothing of the sort happened.
Alonso says a ball skipped up and hit him in the eye — thus the commotion. He’s all good now.
“Just another day,” Alonso said.

A video has resurfaced of Pete Alonso lying on the ground clenching his eyes. Anthony DiComo of MLB reported that Alonso has been hit in the face but is fine.
Still for New York Mets fans, this is scary. Anything could have happened, and it could have been catastrophic. A shattered orbital bone, maybe. A concussion maybe? The possibilities are endless, and it’s all more and more terrifying.
But guess what! Pete Alonso, fans, and Steve Cohen all have the stars pass right over their heads. Because on any other day, Alonso would have ended up on the injured list.
this is a developing story…
