Peyton Manning and basketball? Yeah, that might sound like an unexpected crossover, but stick with it. The guy’s got a habit of showing up in places you wouldn’t expect—roasting QBs on Monday nights, popping up in country music circles, and now? He’s been making moves in the world of women’s hoops. And if March Madness taught us anything, it’s that women’s college basketball isn’t just rising—it’s dominating. But what’s next on Manning’s bucket list?
Remember when “Full Court Press” gave us that all-access pass into the lives of stars like Caitlin Clark and Kiki Rice? Guess what? Manning’s back at it again. On Monday, Manning took to his official Instagram handle and announced the second season of Full Court Press in his IG story. “Full Court Press season 2 coming this May to ESPN,” he wrote in his story.
The documentary produced by ESPN and Omaha Productions featured Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cardoso, and Kiki Rice last season. And this season? Well, brace yourselves for another thrilling season as USC’s Kiki Iriafen, LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson, and Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo are all set to feature in the four-part series.
The second season of the documentary will follow the three athletes on and off the court. The cherry on top? It’ll include interviews with them, their families, and teams, and of course, behind-the-scenes footage.
“There is no better time to be a fan of women’s college basketball than right now,” Manning said in a statement on Monday. “We’re thrilled to share the stories of these three talented women as they continue to push the game to new heights.” The first two episodes of the Full Court Press season two will air on May 3 at ESPN, while the remaining two are scheduled to be aired a week later on May 11. Plus, the viewers can access the latest season of the documentary on ESPN+, Hulu and Disney+.
Peyton Manning’s set to share the stories of three talented women after March Madness
After spending 14 seasons in the NFL, Peyton “The Sheriff” Manning is making waves outside the NFL world too. With the announcement of the second season of the Full Court Press, Manning and ESPN ensured the fans to get an all-access look into the lives of three top women’s college basketball players, both on and off the court.
“The growing momentum behind women’s basketball is driven by its stars, and Full Court Press features three unforgettable, larger-than-life personalities,” said Lindsay Rovegno, Vice President of Production for ESPN Originals. “Hannah, Flau’jae, and Kiki are more than great players–they’re great characters. Season two captures the drive and resilience that make them special. We’re excited to continue telling these compelling stories and showcasing the evolution of the sport.”
Speaking of these three great athletes, Kiki Iriafen spent her first three seasons while playing for the Stanford Cardinals. In her junior year at Stanford, Kiki led her team in scoring and was the second-best rebounder on the team. She finished her junior season averaging 19.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game before transferring to the USC after graduating early with a degree in engineering.
Then there is Flau’jae Johnson, who’s levelling up each season for the LSU Tigers. Not to mention, the Tigers are looking for their second title in three seasons. As a freshman, she was already making noise with 11 points and 5.9 boards a game, and her sophomore season? Ridiculous. She finished her second season with the LSU Tigers after recoding 14.9 points, shot a smooth 50.4% from the field, and even knocked down 38% from deep.
And if you’re thinking that Johnson is just grabbing the spotlight on the court—think again. Because off the court, you can find Johnson flourishing her music career to continue her father’s legacy. Plus, she’s a business mogul as well. Talk about a jack of all trades.
Last but not least, Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo, who is the youngest of the three athletes set to feature on the second season of Full Court Press. Last year, Hidalgo became one of the five freshmen to be Associated Press first-team All-Americans. That said, to dive deep into their on and off court lives, you just have to wait less than a couple of months. Just remember the date—May 3, when the second season of Full Court Press will air on ESPN.
