Putting Terence Crawford on Notice, Eddie Hearn Seals Eimantas Stanionis’ Fate vs. Jaron Ennis With a Bold Claim

IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis is about to be tested against WBA titleholder Eimantas Stanionis in a few hours. The pair will lock horns at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City live on DAZN. However, ahead of the fight, Ennis’ promoter, Eddie Hearn, has shared his honest prediction for the fight, even roping in Terence Crawford into the mix.

‘Boots’ Ennis has been craving some big challenges since securing the IBF strap against David Avanesyan, and Stanionis is the perfect first step in that direction. With an undefeated record and a resume of stand-out fights to show, Stanionis presents an opportunity for Jaron Ennis to unify the division. But the question is, can the Philadelphia native win the fight?

While appearing in an interview recently, Hearn branded the upcoming bout “fight of the year for welterweight supremacy.” Hearn expressed excitement about when he finally inked the deal to make the fight happen, stating, “So happy because I promised Boots. He says, ‘Get me the best. I want the other belts. I want the champions.’”

When asked who Hearn would like Ennis to fight next, the Matchroom head honcho came up with the biggest name possible. “I want him to fight Terence Crawford,” he said, noting, “It’s one of the greatest fights you will ever see. But tomorrow, we’ll see if the hype is real for Boots.” Finally, when pressed about a prediction for the Ennis-Stanionis fight, Hearn was confident about the outcome.

“I think he’ll stop Stanionis inside eight rounds,” Hearn said. However, one could say Hearn is biased towards his own fighter. So, here’s a seasoned veteran predicting the fight.

Teddy Atlas predicts Jaron Ennis’ fate against Eimantas Stanionis

Teddy Atlas has thrown his support behind Jaron Ennis ahead of his highly anticipated clash with Eimantas Stanionis, predicting a dominant performance from the star. Atlas, speaking on The Fight podcast, believes Ennis’ skill set will be too much for Stanionis to handle. “I don’t see Ennis having a problem with him,” Atlas said.

“I see Ennis controlling the outside. I see him making him pay a price to get inside because Stanionis can’t win on the outside.” Known for his slick footwork, speed, and power, Ennis is expected to neutralize Stanionis’ pressure style. “I see Ennis making him pay a price with the uppercut, with the jab… Even on the inside, Ennis knows how to fight.”

Atlas concluded, “He throws short punches. He can put power punches together.”

That said, it appears Jaron Ennis has a solid backing for his upcoming fight against Eimantas Stanionis. However, only time will tell whether Ennis can do what’s being expected of him. Who do you see winning?
