New Balance Nationals Outdoor 2025 is back, and so is Quincy Wilson to rule it again. In 2024, this Bullis High School track and field athlete delivered a sensational performance at the very same championship, claiming the boys’ 400 m title in a meet‑record 45.13 s, ahead of Mateo Medina (46.41 s) and Jaden Marchan (46.58 s). But as the competition kicked off, Quincy wasn’t just racing the clock or his rivals. He also found himself fielding questions from someone who knows exactly what it’s like to perform under pressure on the world’s biggest stages. Who?
The 17-year-old walked out to defend his crown at the 2025 New Balance Nationals Outdoor championships, and for sure, he did. He clocked a time of 45. 37 seconds finishing at number one with a comfortable lead, and not only that. This marked him yet another win over his high school rival, Andrew Slavadon, who missed the podium with a time of 46.47s, finishing fourth. After winning the race, the young gun had some questions coming his way from someone special on the track. Who and what?
American Olympic athlete, Parky Valby, interviewed Quincy after his race. In a video that surfaced, he could be heard saying, “feel extra strong right now, so I’m super blessed. And y’all see it, I’m starting to work. My last 100 was a killer.” The older of the two Olympians asked how it felt to defend the title there, to which he answered that it felt good. Amidst all that, there was someone also waiting to shower all her love onto the national champion. Who?
As Quincy Wilson stood atop the podium at the number 1 position, posing with the gold medal, his elder sister Kadence Wilson took a picture and uploaded it to her Instagram story. “congrats on another national title, love you @_quincy_wilson,” she wrote. She then also clicked a selfie with the newly crowned 4mm national champion, which also went into her Instagram story. This time she wrote, “twins or no @_quincy_wilson, proud of you”

Kadence herself is a track and field athlete. She competes for James Madison University, specializing in sprints and relays. She’s earned recognition such as inclusion on the 2023 Sun Belt All-Conference Third Team in the 4×400 m relay and has posted impressive personal bests—around 55.56s in the 400 m and 5.45 m in the long jump. Her indoor times hover near 56.00s, with a 500 m indoor best near 1:15.70s .
Quincy Wilson and Kadence share a close bond
Quincy Wilson and his sister Kadence share a deeply connected and supportive bond, on and off the track. On National Sibling Day (April 10), Quincy shared a heartfelt throwback photo with Kadence, captioned “happy national sibling day @kadencewilson .” Kadence reciprocated by posting her own tribute: “happy national siblings day, love ya! @_quincy_wilson”.
When Quincy broke the U‑18 400 m record and qualified for the Olympic relay, Kadence said, “I am genuinely proud of him. It almost brings tears to my eyes. I just want him to stay focused on his journey and in God. I can’t wait to see where he goes next.” Quincy has publicly dedicated his biggest competitions to Kadence.
After a breakout performance at the Penn Relays, he pointed to her and said, “I was doing it all for my sister. A major injury happened to her, and I just told her I would go out there to run for her and my team… it just came and it was amazing.” That’s the kind of sibling connection that runs deeper than track lanes or medals. Kadence is slowly rising in the ranks and could be the next track and field star from the Wilson family.
