Quinn Ewers Gets Poaching Offers From 6 NFL Teams after $150M QB Rumors Turned Heads

Texas Longhorns ran deep into the playoff decimating opponents like Clemson and ASU only then to be defeated in the semifinal against Ohio State. Many pointed to the reason that Quinn Ewers was injured earlier in the season and was playing through his injuries. But that didn’t stop the quarterback from notching up close to 3,500 passing yards for 31 touchdowns. His rushing ability did falter throughout the season, but his hand was just a thing of beauty as he gave hope to Arch Manning to carry forward the momentum.

That being said, the draft prospects haven’t seen the upward trend that they needed as far as Ewers is concerned. He is still touted to be an 8th or 9th-ranked quarterback and a 142nd-ranked player overall (Pro Football Focus). A lot is to blame on his ability as a runner and injury concerns. But, still, in a recent revelation, few teams are eyeing the QB as one of the best dark horse prospects in the draft.

One of those teams is the New Orleans Saints if a recent mock draft by ESPN is to be believed. The draft conducted by Matt Miller placed him as the 40th pick overall and saw him drafted for the Saints. Furthermore, other teams are also in contention to land the QB quite seriously. Teams like the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers met the player before the Longhorns’ pro day. Saints were also one of those teams to meet him there. But, the player has some more major visits lined up.

Going forward, Ewers is scheduled to visit and work out for the Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, and Indianapolis Colts as ‘Orangebloods.com’ reported. The visits are scheduled to begin next week and from then on we could see a serious draft stock building in favor of the former Texas QB, who will be eyeing to impress and deliver on the visits. Saints, in particular, are keen to draft the QB as a long-term replacement for Derek Carr, who is on a $150 million contract till 2026.
