Miller passed away at the age of 62 following a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Kim, and their daughter, Gretchen.

One of his standout contributions was co-authoring Ninety Percent Mental with former MLB pitcher Bob Tewksbury, a book that provided a deep understanding of the mental side of the sport.
