Rodolfo Bellato aka ‘Trator’ already has garnered a record of 12-2-0 in MMA and the UFC Light Heavyweight division fighter has a pretty good story to go with it. The chubby kid who was bullied as a child is now one of the stars in UFC who is making his name known to the fans.
His amazing tattoos and splendid fight arsenal make him an entertaining fighter to watch. So let’s get to know more about Bellato and his journey into MMA.
What is Rodolfo Bellato’s ethnicity and Brazilian Background?
Born on February 5, 1996, Bellato was a chubby kid from Sao Paolo, Brazil, being bullied for his structure all the time. The 6’3” 205 lbs man was once an adorable kid who was never picked for soccer. But guess what? He did not lose hope and never backed down.
While speaking to UFC for their official page, he spoke about his childhood and how he started MMA. Bellato said, “I started fighting at age 14 because I was the chubby kid at school who got bullied, and I was the last pick at soccer. I started training because of a friend, and after my first experimental jiu-jitsu class I asked my dad to pay my membership for six months and I haven’t stopped since.”
Bellato’s dad did pay the membership fees and today the UFC star considers his father his hero. He also made his childhood dream come true by fighting in the UFC after he got into the promotion in 2023. Before that, he fought in Dana White’s Contender Series seasons 6 and 7. So let’s see how he succeeded and built his career.
All about the UFC star’s Family and fight career
The 28-year-old UFC star is happily married to his partner Patricia Stoupa and they had posted news about their pregnancy on 29th July 2024. The picture was of Bellato and his wife along with her cute baby bump. There was also a wholesome caption written by Patricia where she said, “Just thinking that the time is coming..counting down the days to meet you, Matteo. Thank you for being that father, friend, partner, bulletproof, and life partner. I love you so much I couldn’t have such a light pregnancy without you by my side.”
Bellato loves to show his love for his family including his dad, Wilson Bellato, who helped him fulfill his dreams. The UFC star even shared an adorable post on Father’s Day on Instagram thanking his dad for what he did.
So apart from a loving family, he has a budding UFC career with one win in Dana White Contender Series Season 7 against Murtaza Talha. ‘Trator’ won at UFC Fight Night: Dariush vs. Tsarukyan against Ihor Potieria via TKO. And finally, he is about to fight Jimmy Crute at UFC 312 on Feb 8th.
Once again his moniker ‘Trator’ will be called out on the Sydney Town Hall and fans will go berserk. The origin of his nickname is quite interesting. As per the fighter, when he was younger and would compete in jiu-jitsu, he could almost crush the other kids of his age because of his size. He said to UFC, “My friends and coaches said I was like a tractor going over the kids, so the nickname stuck.” So are you excited to see him crush his opponent like a tractor at UFC 312?
