“I loved hoops first, but it’s funny how God works. He just led me to the love of dunking, and I wouldn’t have guessed in a million years I would be here right now,” said NBA star and Orlando Magic’s point guard Mac McClung, who, on Saturday, managed the first three-peat in the dunk contest since the event began in 1984. And he did it with a jaw-dropping stunt – leaping over a vehicle in a way that left everyone speechless. Even basketball fanatic and women’s basketball supporter, Alexis Ohanian, couldn’t resist commenting, summing up McClung’s incredible feat in just three words.
Alexis Ohanian, a millionaire in his own right, has been having a busy February. His X account shows him jet-setting between a Miami art and architecture panel, a fancy dinner in Abu Dhabi, and a donation drive in Los Angeles. Amid all this, Ohanian was in San Francisco to watch the NBA Slam-Dunk action live on February 15th. And what he saw there was beyond words.
The high-octane extravaganza featured McClung, defending his crown successfully. McClung’s stunt was truly something else. With a Kia car parked backwards under the basket and a teammate holding the ball through the open sunroof, he leaped over the vehicle, grabbed the ball between his legs mid-air, and slammed down a reverse dunk as the crowd went wild. Now, how about that? Even Ohanian wasn’t able to believe it – but eventually he had to.
Dropping praise for the Orlando Magic’s point guard’s gravity-defying aerial artistry, he wrote on X, “BIG MAC ATTACK” while sharing the video of McClung performing the breathtaking stunt.

Two days ago, the basketball-loving Ohanian has hinted at something big coming from him and his venture capital firm, Seven Seven Six, during the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend. “Great week. About to get even better. See y’all at NBA All-Star Tech Summit,” he tweeted. Then, when AI company ScorePlay (in which Seven Seven Six is an investor, along with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Alex Morgan) announced their arrival at the Tech Summit, Ohanian simply replied, “See yall soon,” further fueling speculation about what he has planned.
While Ohanian enjoyed his time at this season’s All-Star Saturday, it wasn’t his first moment watching the NBA stars in action. Remember the time from the week before Christmas last year? But who did he cheer for back then?
When Serena Williams’ husband attended the NBA Cup final featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo
Last December, Alexis Ohanian shared a picture on X to reveal his presence at the NBA Cup final between the Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder. “Let’s go. #NBACup,” he simply wrote. But that wasn’t all. At the T-Mobile Arena, he even extended his support to Bucks’ star player Giannis Antetokounmpo, who received the MVP Award. He helped his team snatch a 97-81 win over the Thunder.
In one of his Instagram stories, Serena Williams’ husband put up a picture of Antetokounmpo and wrote, “Enjoy it @giannis_an34 NBA CUP MVP.” Speaking of Antetokounmpo’s performance in this battle, he got a triple-double. It included 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists. With that, he also became the second player after legend and LA Lakers’ LeBron James to win MVPs in two cup editions, as reported by NBA’s official website on December 17, 2024. When it comes to James, he had won the inaugural trophy back in December 2023.
Coming back to Ohanian’s love for basketball, then it goes beyond the on-court action. For the uninitiated, he made a huge donation last year to the University of Virginia women’s basketball project. The exact figure of donation remained unknown. The press release revealed that the funds collected will be used to “elevate Virginia Women’s Basketball recruiting and retention of championship level talent.”
While thanking Ohanian for his generous act, one of the members of the university’s team said in a video, “Thank you thank you thank you Alexis! This is a game-changer. This is the transformation of game which is the first of its kind, in history of women’s basketball here at UVA that will help us recruit, retain, and also close the gap between current and future student-athletes. Thank you for all you do, you are someone who champions women’s sports and women in general. So Blessed to have you in our corner and in our family!”
Well, those are really amazing words of appreciation, aren’t they? And Serena Williams‘ husband deserves them completely. What are your thoughts on his philanthropic side? Let us know in the comments below.
