When Seattle-based engineer Grant Slatton shared an AI-generated image with his wife and dog, styled in Ghibli art, last week, little did he know that it would turn into a viral trend. Within days, the obsession with Ghibli has escalated unprecedentedly among people on social media. Everyone’s hopping on this artform, with aid from Chat GPT, to recreate their favorite moments with a touch of soft colors and playful character art, aka, Ghibli. It appears Serena Williams’ husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian couldn’t keep up with the trend during its onset. But hey, it’s never too late to catch up, right? Ohanian has finally recreated a special memory with daughter Olympia in Ghibli-style portraits. And boy, they look captivating, to say the least.
Alexis Ohanian took to his X account on April 1, and shared three pictures with Olympia. They dated back to the Athlos event in NYC, at the Icahn Stadium, from last September. Famous track and field athletes like Gabby Thomas, Faith Kipyegon, and Alexis Holmes participated in the meet. Olympia showed some of her dance moves there, too, during her playful moments with dad Ohanian.
Dropping Ghibli-style images of himself and Olympia, Ohanian wrote, “Late, I know, but how cute.” But that’s not all. He even shared his “@athlos memories” with the 7-year-old on his IG story on Monday. Probably, he wanted to let everyone know that he’s now become a part of the viral trend as well.

But it’s not just the Ghibli trend that Ohanian is getting involved with these days. Being a dad, he always tries to do something to impress his daughters. He recently came back from his trip to Texas, where he attended a thrilling race featuring Anavia Battle’s lightning-fast 100m sprint. The Reddit co-founder, however, didn’t forget his ‘dad duties’ – bringing gifts for his little ones.
On IG, he revealed two special gifts that he brought for his daughters from Texas. For Olympia, it was a pair of vintage cowgirl boots, having ‘rich brown’ tones and floral embroidery. “Had to get for @olympiaohanian before I left,” he wrote. But what about the youngest daughter? For Adira, he brought a Texas-style brisket. However, he had more stuff to share as well.
Ohanian revealed his signature Papa Pancakes tradition, too, while making an extra special breakfast for Olympia this Sunday. Giving a unique touch to his pancakes this time, he made them in the style of floral cowgirl boots that he brought for her from Texas. “Busy weekend! Day-trip for Austin Relays and a pair of boots for my big cowgirl. I’m so inspired to see many of these stars at @athlos 25!! Also #PapaPancakes back in the weekend photo dump rotation,” he wrote in a post dated March 31.
But guess what? Making pancakes isn’t the only weekend activity for Papa Ohanian. How about playing some golf?

Last week, Alexis Ohanian shared moments from his weekend traditions with Olympia on IG. As usual, there were pancakes there. But it wasn’t just pancakes made by Alexis. A sweet pancake, lovingly crafted by Olympia, could also be spotted. But there was more to add to their fun time. Ohanian’s father, Chris Ohanian, also joined in, as the family made their way to the golf course.
“Another day on the course with the fam ”, Alexis wrote on Instagram. He later echoed the sentiment on X as well, writing, “Sundays are for family. And golf ” When it comes to golf, Olympia is no stranger to the sport. On a previous occasion, during her birthday in September 2024, she was seen flaunting her golf skills in front of her dad. And Alexis was filled with pride. Naturally so.
Wearing a ‘pink top’ and ‘white miniskirt,’ Olympia was outgrowing the clubs gifted to her by none other than legend Tiger Woods. Embracing the adorable moment, Ohanian wrote, “Every morning with her is precious. Especially Sundays. This Daddy Caddy needs to get her some new clubs soon cuz she’s growing out of the gift from Uncle Tiger. Can’t wait to take her to her first @tglgolf match this January. @weareLAGC won’t hold anything back against even @jupiterlinksgc”
