Chet Holmgren walked off the court shouting, “You know who this is? The MVP,” in reference to SGA. But NBA fans quickly pointed out another hero: Alex Caruso. The guard dropped 11 points, played lockdown defense, and ended the night with a game-high +40 in 26 minutes. Even Kendrick Perkins chimed in, saying the real Thunder MVP was Caruso.
While Gilgeous-Alexander dazzled as the offensive engine, Caruso’s relentless energy and poise were undeniable. OKC now preps for a tough Western Conference Finals clash with the Timberwolves, starting Tuesday at the Paycom Center. And don’t be surprised if Caruso’s name stays in the MVP talks.
