We all know how much hype was around the New York Giants. They might have signed Shedeur, but that just didn’t happen.
After the first three deals, Shedeur might have expected that at least the Las Vegas Raiders, the Saints, and the Steelers could sign him. But when Roger Goodell announced, “With the 21st pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Derrick Harmon, defensive tackle, Oregon,” hence confirming that the Buffs QB was not going to get home in the first round. Things have gone differently. Shedeur did not remain unselected in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft.

He said, “Weird stat: Shedeur Sanders is the 1st player in college football history to have his number retired & not be selected 5 days later in NFL Draft’s 1st round.” On April 14, Colorado University retired the Jersey numbers of Travis Hunter and Shedeur. Though many liked it, lots of fans urged the NCAA to scrutinise the retirement of numbers.

Well, that’s a different topic. But going undrafted in the first round after they retired his jersey makes it feel like the university handed fans a half-baked cake.
