While a heavy loss in their season opener attracted criticism, the Sky are now facing absolute backlash for their fumble on Sonia Citron. Citron was the third pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft and has performed well across her first two games, making an early case for the Rookie of the Year award. Scoring 19 & 15 in her first two games, respectively, she has been a vital part of the Mystics’ couple of wins to start the season.
And to think Chicago could have had Citron for at least 3-4 years.

For the Sky, though, that is bad news. Chicago originally held the No.3 pick in this year’s draft before they traded it for Ariel Atkins and a future pick swap. After Sonia’s impressive performances to start the season, the fans and the coach are left wondering if they made a mistake.
